Question re: EJ Ethnic Beauties for Genesis 8 Female(s)

This looks like a morph product only, but each of the ethnic characters has a different skin tone.  Did the creator just use different skin shaders for each promo image, or is there actually a way to change the tone of an IRay skin for G3F/G8F?  I ask because that's one thing I struggle with when trying to get a character to look right.  Any advice would be appreciated.

I suspect they used some of their own characters, also available in the store.

All of the skins were EJ character skins; they have a distinctive look.

No comments about this product but this is a general "problem" with this type of products - you never know how the result will be using other textures than those in the promos, and not all vendors list the textures used.

There are several parameters in the Surfaces>Skin tab that can change the tone. The Transmitted Color and/or SSS Color proabably have the most dramatic/immediate effects.

I just IM'd them about this thread, asking that they post which textures were used...

    Hi guys! :)

The skins used in the promos are:

    Yumako: EJ Atsuko skin

Chenoa: EJ Agatha skin with a color change in Base Color to make it darker

    Billie: EJ Etta skin

Aunani: EJ Eloise skin with a color change in Base Color

    Indira: EJ Karisma skin

    Celine: EJ Adora skin

Juanita: EJ Barbara skin with a color change in Base Color

The girl at the last promo is EJ Gloria skin with another color change.

We didn't put this information to not confuse as these skins are for Genesis 3 and the product is for Genesis 8. But if you needed this, we're happy to help :)

Every Single Morph was posted with AND without a skin texture. Of course every morph looks different depending on what skin you use. So do you suggest that venders just stop selling morphs? Or force morph artists to post promo images with DOZENS of different skins per morph? Or post morph promos with NO SKIN at all? (Then Daz can tell them their Promo images are too boring and need work.) I mean, I really don't get what your grevence is here. Venders just can't win. lol

I'm not sure, but I think the original poster was asking if it was the same character skin used but tone-adjusted for the various morphs. Not sure. Regardless, I have to say the Juanita morph with Barbara skin looks incredible. Such a beauty! Well, they're all beautiful, but whoa, that one stands out for me. :)

I'm not suggesting anything, just telling it like it is. If you want the exact look you see in the promos (which many do) you need to have the same textures.

Ah, I see what you mean. And yeah, the morphs are always going took really different depending upon the skin used with it. There's really nothing a vendor can do about that. But I agree, posting the skin textures used in the promos is always helpful. :)

Skin tone can vary drastically depending on lighting and the scene's render settings: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/2681936/#Comment_2681936

And of course, as fastbike1 pointed out, you can always change the skin tone with the skin's Base Color, Translucency Color, SSS Reflective Tint, etc.

    Exactly.

Thanks.  I will try this.  The biggest problem I've had recently is with G3M skins.  Most of them look very dark compared to G3F skins.  Not more brown, but just more dusky.  It makes G3M look a bit odd.  Abnormal.
