Veins and Blood

AloreeaAloreea Posts: 285

Ok so, I am trying paint veins on a model of mine. I want them to be barely visible, where you can still make out the blue. Where would I paint them? On the Texture map? Or Translucency map?

Also one more question... smiley  If I wanted to show the blood in the tips of her fingers and toes, where would I paint that? Translucency or Texture?

Sorry for the questions, I'm new to this stuff. Thanks in advance!

    Hi,

you put the veins into the translucency color. Better is to mix the vein map with some kind of diffuse for that pupose.

Over here is a link to some vessel maps.
For an own test with the (G1)Aaron skin, which uses the V4 UV, I mixed the vessel map with the skin texture using the multiply layer algorythm in a photoshop similar program. In a second step I adjusted brightness and gamma of the result to match the original skintone. This I used in the translucency color channal at 35% (scatter & transmit).

    The result:

I'm using Genesis 3, I also plan on painting them on a Genesis 8 map too.
