Singing the HIVEWIRE BIG CAT SONG OF JOY... oh happy day!

Okay... I hate to kvetch but.... (He said, preparing to kvetch)

I have long wanted to get the Hivewire Big Cat and put off buying it til it was on sale. I finally bought it.... June 24th.... I bought it on sale.

I actively avoid buying things outside of DAZ unless they are of such high quality or vital to the type of renders I do because I like having it part of the DIM upload and download which I treasure to help with system management.

On my birthday of all days, I find the same product I purchased is being offered here more cheaply (for me because of previous purchases) than what I purchased it for at Hivewire with no transferal of what I purchased at Hivewire being moved over to DIM thru DAZ.

I unfortunately feel a little screwed. I would VASTLY Nprefer these be a part of DIM and to get the difference in what I spent refunded back to me but I will gladly settle simply for having it transferred to DIM.

Help me? :)

P.S. PLEASE don't think I am being down on Hivewire or their WONDERFUL products! The BIG CAT is AMAZING and beautiful to pose and work with.

Well, you could drop the product from Hivewire into the content package assistant (if you have it) and turn it into a DIM-ready zip (at which point all you need to do is put the new zip in your DIM downloads folder and DIM will see it and want to install it)

Or you could try sending a help ticket to DAZ with your Hivewire email reciept and see if they will do anything...

And lastly, you could always see if you can return the product on hivewire and just repurchase it here on Daz

You could possible ask for a refund from Hivewire, but as far as I'm aware pruchases at Hivewire are not being transfered here, you could always package it up with a content folder and add it to DIM yourself.

Well, I went ahead and bought it here. Let's hope Hivewire is nice and refunds my money. :/

    :)

Not only does it turn your products from other sites into DIM-ready packages (DIM will see them as downloaded and ready to install) but once DIM installs them, then they also get added to your Products under your Content Library tab

I accidentally purchased a poser only product over there, and they were very quick to refund the purchase price. Good people over there. I do hope this collaboration will be as beneficial to them as to DAZ

Me too. I used the Big Cat a couple of times and it works BEAUTIFULLY. It looks amazing too.

There is a 30day return policy so I guess it depends when you bought it.

I haven't used "content package assistant" but that sounds like the way to go.

  • I use the Content Package Assist on every single thing I get that doesn't come from Daz3d.  :)  Yup....even freebies or sets I make for my own personal use.  I love the fact that it makes an entry in Smart Content and in the Product (alphabetical) list in Content Library like kaotbliss showed a couple posts up.  And, since I install it using DIM, if I want to search to verify installation etc, there is a searchable entry.

I have gone from singing the blues to being ecstatically happy. Hivewire refunded my money and I am playing with their awesome product as we speak. :)

Not really surprising to me; either way they're getting his money for the Big Cat.

Yep. And it cements goodwill so that I am much more likely to buy more of thier products here. :)

That's not the reason, though, just so you know. As noted, like DAZ, HiveWire has a 30 day money back guarantee.  I'd replied in the other thread, not realizing you deleted it and started this one, so you prob'ly missed my post.  Very glad it got sorted out - enjoy Kitty!

Thanks, all, for the compliments, and I agree with Rae that the Content Package assist seems to be a very good option for those who want to add non-DAZ products & freebies to DIM  :).

Oh yes, I am overJOYED with the kitty cat AND Hivewire and I look forward to many HAPPY RENDERS IN THE FUTURE.

Is there an estimate on time (other than"Soon" (tm) ) for when the Hivewire cat and horse and boar will be here? And in what order?

AMAZING product, again. LOVE IT! :)

The House Cat and the Horse are both ready to come over I believe, but I have no idea when, if I was to make a guess I'd say it will be the cat before the horse but I really don't know.

The Boar as far as I'm aware isn't finished yet.

You will really like the housecat and the horse.  I love Harry, he's a beautiful beast.  I can't speak for the boar though...

I hear they have a dragon in the works too. :)

    Yes, and an elephant too.

Yup, yup, and yup. There's half a zoo in the works. Unfortunately there are bottlenecks in the workflow.

    Okay. I'll wait.

    Glad you're loving it !

The house cat, kitten, and CWRW's Orange Tabby have all been submitted here, but we don't have any date on when they will be in the DAZ store.  The horse is not quite ready - Laurie (CWRW, who's done all the textures for our Horse, Big Cat, & House Cat products) is working on updates to materials for many of the packs before that's ready, but should be the next moving over  :).  Chris has modeled an enormous zoo (lol, Jodel, I think it's more than half of one) that are in various stages of work.  Many share UVs (for example, the Big Cat and House Cat do) so you'll be able to mix and match materials.  Lots of WIP threads over there Chris has started, which you can follow :).

Someone is working on a LAMH preset (shown in the housecat render thread there)....which is stunning!

Saving my money for when these animals come out . . . I've bought the Big Cat and the panther add-on and I'm super pleased with both.
