    No, no scientologists involved.

Nanowrimo is National Novel Writer's Month, which is in November. Camp Nano is a practice run. There are two, during April and July. They're a lot of fun. People sign up for free, set up their writing project and join a "cabin", which is a chat room with other writers that are all writing their projects at the same time. The goal is to encourage each other and try to hit 50,000 words on a manuscript in a month, though you can set other goals. I'm editing and rewriting a 70k romantic comedy with superheroes, the second in my Black Kat series. I've self published two books on Amazon in ebook format and am getting ready to do print via Create Space and audio via Audible.

was much happier with createspace over Lulu and cafe press.

not sure if it's true these days, back in the day, for a 350-. fee American Library association would review independent book.

I have gotten closer to deciding what to write, but what is an iris hatch?

Door in a spaceship,  typically in floor or ceiling. Has leaves that open & close like the iris of a camera. smiley

OK, holiday-related excuses are over.  I'll be diving in my project now.

Miss Bad Wolf, need a title?  The Girl Who Stole the Eiffel Tower might be taken, but some other fun tips can be found in this vintage study of a writer running up against a deadline.

Yes, why not? It's your world wink

I'm at 11k words. Really need to rewrite and flesh out a chapter a day on the weekdays, stopping to do more detailed editing over the weekend for each Act. It's doable, since the very rough draft of the manuscript is already written, but there's still a lot to flesh out. And my characters are keeping me in the dark about key details of the finale. I know what has to happen, but not sure exactly how they're getting there. Same thing happened with my first Midwest book. My characters took over and absolutely shocked me with what came out. Turned out good though.

Some days, I don't feel like I'm writing, just taking dictation! LOL

How's everyone doing? I'm at 14k. Not sure I'll get much more in today.

Oh, I am only at 1500 words.  Woe is me!  But, the relatives are gone, I have cleaned eveything in the house, sent in some paperwork for the Fall, posted the Carrara theme, reorganized my closet,... and all the other procrastination steps.  No more excuses.

Have you put the cat out? Shampoo'd the goldfish? Gritted the driveway, trimmed the hedge, pruned the apple tree, mowed the lawn? No, nor me! Better just check Facebook while I'm at it . . . . .

Still at 14k here. I played with dragons all day.

And no, I don't mean my mother in law!

I reformatted with my harddrive so I need to reinstall Word.   I have finally camp up with a working name which is Mili and the Memories of Camp Joy.

Official camp cheerleader checking in for the word count.

Tango, stop the procrastination and buckle down and write something! You can build iris hatches and sanitize the goldfish another day. (Said by one of the world's biggest procrastinators, heh.)

Good progress Llynara. LOL @ your dragon joke.

Go Diomede. Off to a good start.

Mistara, Miss Bad Wolf, and Ati - what's the word count? Carry on and keep at!

    Go Team Daz!

Woe is me.  I let excuses and procrastination get in my way.  Prepped for a new class I will be teaching.  Maybe next time.  sad

Me too. Work got in the way (as usual), my theatre group's production of Blithe Spirit took 10 days out (as usual) (we're staging Julius Caesar during main Nano . . . .), and someone thought I needed a "social life", whatever that is! Only got 5K written.

Stupid computer problems were my excuse.

I managed to get 15k of words in, out of 70. I need to finish up this month and get it to my editor if I'm going to make a fall release schedule.

Family stuff slowed me down midmonth. Everything has been dealt with, though there's always something. School starts soon, maybe I'll have a little time back. What's that? LOL
