Keep Calm and Do It the SickleYield Way! (Convert Clothing G3 to G8, G8 to G3)

The always incredible and helpful SickleYield has put up a new tutorial on DeviantArt for converting clothing from Gen 8 to Gen 3 and vice versa, plus a few other hints and tips, that I thought I would share the link to here in case anyone hadn't seen it already. She also has a link to a YouTube video of her tutorial so she's covered all the bases. It works really well and eliminates the problems that AutoFit has with shoes (high heels especially) and the distortion you can get under the armpits. AutoFit is still the easiest way to go of course but thanks to Sickle we now have an alternative for dealing with the things that AutoFit isn't that great for.
Happy rendering everyone.

The Genesis 3 for Genesis 8 pose is nice, but the fingernails come up short. Something needs to be scaled to get a better fit. Might need some scaling on the chest and rear too. Could it possibly be split into two files? A pose matching pose, and a shape matching pose? First one would just match the pose (without scaling), 2nd one would match the pose and shape (with scaling).
Just curious though...was this pose created by hand, or was it whipped up in a custom script?
Oh bummer, if transferring G8 to G3 is that easy, it's way too easy to give into temptation to buy more stuff my G3. I was hoping that my credit card would get some rest after new figure was released, but no rest for the wicked it seems. Anyways, great find and thank you for SickleYield for a very good tutorial.
Sorry I honestly couldn't tell you. As I say I'm just sharing SickleYields tutorial so as many people can see it as possible and she was the one who did everything. You're probably best asking on her DeviantArt page to be honest, I'm not sure she's active on these forums. Again sorry I'm no help to you.
Not a problem. I was just thinking since the Genesis 3 and Genesis 8 skeletons are so similar, a script could copy the bone transforms from one skeleton to the other. But, I don't think that would work, since I noticed some of the leg and arm bones have different lengths. Some scaling factors would have to be injected to get them to match up perfectly. Rotations alone won't do it.

Sickleyield. She has come to our rescue time and again with helpful tutorials. I can hardly wait to dig into this one.
Could be either. All this pose does is convert the new default A-pose of G8 to the default T-pose of G3. There is a free script for help with converting poses, that will set G8 to the T-Pose, too. I don't know if they are the same changes, though... Anyway:
I did the pose manually. If you want to convert poses there are some free scripts that do it, including the one linked in the post above mine.
