Backward compatibility - but not for poses? :(

I was hoping that the "most backward compatibility" would include poses, but I'm not too happy with the results using Gen3 poses. Any tips for using Gen3 poses?

That picture is gonna get yanked for the chest area so repost without "bumps".

Yep sure hope there is a pose solution then it will be full steam ahead!

LOL. Okay, didn't think of that. If I cover with clothes, the main issue is not seen. Hands going through breasts. Anyway, here's one from the back. :)

    Invisible from the back, then?

I believe it's because the resting pose for G8/V8 is an A pose instead of T.

Oh, come on, what is nudity? It's showing the base character from the back... Okay, I cut out her bottom as well.

It's kind of hard to see if the image is removed. :D I put up another one. I hope it doesn't get removed because she has no clothes on, because come on, I can't show the issue if the clothes cover her! :D

The poses are actually not too far off... you just have to bend the upper arms back a bit

So backward compatibility is only for clothes? Ehh, that might be a show-stopper for now. For me, anyway.

Why did they switch to an A pose? What purpose does that serve?

It IS easier to model clothing around an A pose than a T pose. But I guess they have their reasons for doing it now, I suppose.

Regarding Poses, a new Pose Converter from my side will be available. It will also have some new features.

I've found that a lot of the hair in my library, male, female, Genesis through G3 work well via autofit or need only minor adjustments. I don't own many V4/M4 era hairs, but the even few that I have pop onto G8 and fit very nicely.

Any idea on when this is coming out, and if it will also work for males? Thank you! :)

Thank you. I´ve heard a lot of good about the previous pose converters, so looking forward to it. :)

I seem to remember something about Marvelous Designer and A poses. Perhaps it makes it easier to design and bring in the clothes if the starting poses match.

I can't answer for Daz, but i know that for me, the shoulder areas in an A-Pose can make for a more pleasing and natural look. V7 on right and V8 on left. (correction, oops :) )

Yes it should work on males whenever that happens. If not it will be updated to do so. I will be starting a thread on it hopefully today where I can show all the product specifics.

I guess I'm not too flexible, LOL, but I just stood in front of a mirror, trying to mimic these poses, and whatever I did, I couldn't replicate the pose on the right. :)

So no animate2 compatibility then? Well you still render makers enjoy. Nothing for my sort on offer here.

That sounds like a must buy for me. I hope you have plans to eventually make Growing Up morphs once Genesis 8 male is released.

Heh, yep, sounds like you're not very flexible.  I have no trouble lifting my arm up and by my head, but it looks more like on the one on V8.

The shoulder looks really good to me.

And that was with limits on.  To achieve the pose on V8, I disabled limits on V7.

  • I can't even get the eyelashes to show up. It says it's there but they don't appear on the figure.

But you were able to achieve the pose, though. That only means the shoulder on V8 has a higher limit range, not that V7 is incapable of it.

Like forwards and backwards compatibility? That would be nice, doesn't look like the other items I bought from your lineup work with this new figure's "backwards compatiblity" either...."growing up", "breast control", "glute control"...

I hope this gets an update.

One could make the arguement of going Maxon, Autodesk, SideFX when one considers all the assets one buys from DAZ, I could have almost paid for the monthly subscription rates for these other programs and start building from there instead. If I plunked down the multi-year license on the ol' CC's, I could have it there for the next 3 years at a bargain...considering.

"Like forwards and backwards compatibility?" Regarding Poses, yes. Regarding the other products they are being re-done.

I may be misunderstanding, but you don't seem to see an improvement?  What I see is the shoulder rotates up more naturally.  On V7, I see a distortion, where I point with the arrow; creates a break in the line down the arm where the V8 version is smoother.  The down arm shows a nice roundness at the shoulder top and it's more angular on V7 which is what often happens when figures are modeled in TPose.
