DAZ Studio Pro Tip (View-port Performance)
in The Commons
My biggest annoyance when it comes to working with DAZ Studio is that working on its view-port is TERRIBLY AWFUL as soon as you fill your scene with stuff. Today I embarked on a journey to discover how to fix that. And after many trials and tribulations, I had to share this:
Go to Edit - Preferences
Then under the interface tab there's an option called display optimization
Select Best
Click Apply and Accept
You can thank me later. ![]()
P.S.
Works on texture view, wireframe view is still quite slow.

Yup, and adding to that, turn off Per-Pixel Shading and Hardware Anti-Aliasing.
How to keep the selection of the cursor, say when you have a scene in the DAZ Barn with lots of mesh, the cursor always wants to choose the DAZ Barn, how to change that to make it easier to select other models in the barn?
You can also set Backface Lighting to Off for additional performance but it may cause some objects in the viewport to look weird (they will still render fine).

Pretty bold.
Tenth or so time this tip has been "discovered".
This is only for OpenGL right?
in the scene tab click the small tick mark for the entry for DAZ Barn and it will become a small x, after this the barn will not be selected by clicks in the main view pane, only via selection on the Select pane
Ah, thanks!
I figured it has been posted many times, but I seriously don't understand why it isn't like that default. If it helps a few people with their workflow, it's worth this all the time.
The optimal setting varies on different systems.
Thank you. :-)
