The opening screen of the script has a button for the Guide. Left side. See attached photo. May be a bit unusual to access it this way, but you will never lose track of it. ;)
Thank you, Cybersox13. I tried using Cayman's Torso UV's and it worked with a little trial and error. The vertical tiling was a bit off but easy to tweak into place. Much appreciated!
Wow, I so need more coffee.
And I guess I'm going to have to try to start selling stuff.
I had to find the User Guide the long way, after making an almost unheard of decision to actually read the manual before opening the software! :)
Hence "Merchant Resource" in the product name.
Well, yes, but I took that to mean 'you can distribute' rather than 'only if selling.'
But that's fine, I have a number of tools that make me confident in selling stuff. I prefer free, but I'm constantly short on funds for this stuff, so time to do it.
Cool Will! Looking forward to that.
Thank you so much.
Keep in mind that you can sell stuff via your DeviantArt account and it ought to still qualify as a commercial product. I've seen a number of artists taking their first steps over there lately rather than going the Rendo/DAZ route.
No problem! The gens/tan incombatibility issue on the first Skin Builder drove me nuts, so practically the first thing I did after DL'ing SB3 was to check for workarounds for the new version.
Thats pretty common for commercial products, and understandable.
I would love a baby-talk walk-through of creating your own overlay textures and putting them in the right place. I did read the manual! But... sometimes I need baby-talk.
That's appealing. Hmm.
I like not having to jump through other folks' hoops at their schedule to get things done.
Yeah, I'd be hesitant to buy something really intricate and complex from an unknown vendor via DA, but for things like textures and simple props it seems like a really practical idea... especially since Renderosity seems to be getting excessively zealous about cutting back the number of products they carry.
Anyone know if HFS Fantasy Shapes for Genesis 3 Female(s) works with SB3? It's on the Flash Mob Sale right now, and it would be cool to make skins for these shapes. Or does SB3 come with any fantasy-style shapes?
That's a morph only product, so yes, SB3 should work just fine.
...not sure if I installed this to the right location.
In 4.8, the only "blue" highlighting I see is on the Skin Builder 3 folder and top end "Resources" folder, all of the child folders under resources are grey and when I click on any of them, no thumbnails appear in the right portion of the Content pane. I reset the CMS but that didn't solve the matter.
I believe Zev noted earlier in the thread that the product doesn't work in 4.8.
Edit - Actually, it says that on the product page - Skin Builder 3 requires Daz Studio 4.9.2.70 or higher to work.
Aside from not working in DS4.8, the resources folder probably doesn't contain user-facing files.
Oooh, somehow I totally missed this earlier. Love the two color effect. :)
Thanks! As Bizarro says, "Color coordination are fun!" Really looking forward to seeing what everyone does for the competition this time around.
The competition this time around will allow you to use other skins as well. But, you will be judged differently as to what changes you made to it, and the overall effect.
Sadly, my experience has been that a lot of things don't work properly, or at all, in the beta versions of DS.
I have 4.9 beta & just tested this & Skin Builder does work in that one for me
I've just found and run the update from the installer as I couldn't run the script at all on my Mac.
It's running now but the 'user guide' button doesn't seem to work, is it bugged? (The MR Agreement button doesn't seem to do anything either). Is there another way to access the user guide?
Got a screenshot?
