The product descriptions are hilarious!
@avxp - I'm not sure if Poser only figures (such as Allison) work in DAZ. The rigging might be different. I know I was looking at a small online store that sold Poser only stuff and it specifically said their items would not work in DAZ because of the rigging. Not sure that's the case with the figures that come with Poser. Never tried to load them into DAZ. Might be an interesting experiment.
The Egg Pod, again some notes and pictures. The render shows four versions of the Egg Pod, starting on the far left and working clockwise:-
1. Standard Poser Figure loaded into DS, original mats and showing some tears/issues in the mesh around the pod’s lips.
2. Poser Mats but converted to SubD in DS, the mesh now looks okay.
3. Basic DS mat conversion, surface changes and moved the displacement maps to the displacement slot rather than the bump slot where DS puts them by default.
4. DS SSS (Sub-Surface-Scattering) mat version, started with version three and applied the AOA SSS Shader Base (now part of the standard DS install) and fiddled with the settings using the SSS Toolbox to get something I liked.
Note: as the SSS Mat was created using the SubSurface Toolbox ( https://www.daz3d.com/subsurface-toolbox ) a commercial product I’m not sure I can post the resulting Material file, so for now only the basic file & png are below, if a mod or somebody else can confirm the Toolbox issue I’ll post the SSS files later if permitted.
Even something like this Male Pattern Baldness add-on (https://www.daz3d.com/male-pattern-baldness-for-m4) looks pretty useful.
I'm getting the same problems
You said it! A lot of these seem delightful. It's going to be tough to narrow selections down.
I'm curious to know if stand-alone characters like Boon or the Anime Fighter take poses from M3 or M4.
Also curious to know if the tutorials are any good. Some of them seem like they might be worth checking out, especially at the bundle pricing.
So many decisions....
Still is - a lot of (if not all) the "new" content here is just CP content that has been moved to DAZ. So beware, some may already have some of it and may have forgotten it.
What's cool is that I was at one of the other sites and had been debating getting one or two of these items. Heh.
I've always wanted Real Skin for Star. But if it's for Poser 9, then (going by this thread), it's not going to work in Daz 4.9.
I found it amusing that for the Alien Probez DAZ suggested I might also like AlienX poses. LOL. Thanks DAZ for suggesting I need Aliens to g go with the probes! =-)
The products page actually says both Poser and DS 4.9. Besides, a lot of the Poser content I've tried in DS actually works fine right out of the box, in Iray even with the original shaders.
Does Poser do specialty vendor-made shaders? Those would be an exception (if they exist)
What's "specialty vendor-made shaders"?
yes, you'd be in heaven with the poser node based material room and your inclination towards procedural shaders. The two biggest problems with Poser products not working in DS are poser specific shaders, clothroom dynamic anything, and specific poser rigging, otherwise, from my experience 90% of poser content works in DS.
Yeah, just saying that if a product says 'Poser', Poser-specific shaders and dynamic hair (and maybe dynamic clothes) would be the big examples of stuff not transferring.
Dynamic clothes, at least, can be adapted to Daz with VWD and similar.
Just be careful...Alyson 2 is weightmapped for Poser 9 and can't be used in DS (Poser 9 was where they introduced weight mapping).

The only issue ive found so far is with Nyla. Side - side on rfoot, lfoot and head breaks the model (see pic). Its listed as daz compatible so ill write this up later.
I decided to buy Real Skin for Star.
The Real Skin works, but the injection/morphs don't.
~Double post... sorry~
The sale prices seem to be fluctuating again...
70% discount not working for me. Cleared cart. Logged out. Refreshed browser. Logged in. Added items. Still nothing.
OK, what's the morphs supposed to do, actually? I can see the right eye looks a bit odd, has it anything to do with that?
That's just the secret "Generate forum activity" feature at work...
Seems fixed (?).
yes, we appear to have gained on the swings and then lost out on the roundabouts.
Oh forgot to say it has been reported and should be fixed in about 10-15 minutes.
On Renderotica, the product page has a read me file that lists all of the morphs.
I can't post a link as this is a family friendly forum. But there's supposed to be breast morphs, bottom morphs, feet morphs, mouth morphs, gravity morphs and morphs for Annie Hair.
The eye might've something to do with the lighting that I used or the angle of the render. I just wanted to do a quick test in 3Delight.
This stuff is all old enough it should work in DAZ except for the shaders. I have a number of his products. No, nothing is Genesis (any version) based, and most of it is stand alone figures. If this means Darkseal is going to start putting out products specifically for DAZ it is very good news indeed.
OK thanks, and yes, I imagined the eye thing was just some lighting thing.

Fixed!
