Where oh where have my shoulders gone?

OK so let's talk about shoulders and the lack thereof in Daz clothing.

I understand, I do, that bare shoulders are attractive. Maximize Bare Skin, that's our slogan here. But is there like... some kind of training program or conference panel that teaches, "If possible, replace attached sleevs with elastic arm bands we'll label 'sleeves'?"

More to the point, if I feel the need to kitbash some sleeves to connect, say, Fayre armlets to bodice.... what would you recommend? I just can't get behind ladies who wear these lovely dresses (https://www.daz3d.com/woodland-fayre) strapless. It bugs me.

    plenty of sets have pauldrons you could pop on to connect them cheeky

    I've got a feeling there are a lot of bare shoulders because shoulders tend to distort the most with conforming clothing.

    That said, to make the armlets appear to be attached to the bodice, I'd try some of the sleeve options from the MFD expansions.  Frequently (though admittedly not always) when used with the shoulder ruffles, it can provide enough of an appearance that the sleeves are attached to the dress. (depending on the angle seen)

    Depending on what you're doing, what sort of image you're trying to make, you could also put something like the Ultra Bodysuit underneath -- something with lots of material zones/surfaces -- and then make it look like a sheer or solid underlayer with shaders. Turn off opacity on the the parts you don't want, and that could make the whole thing look a bit more formal and attached. Granted, that won't work with Woodland Fayre -- either a sheer or solid underlayer would look wrong with that patchwork pattern set, and any other sort of shader would need to match very precisely -- but generally, it could work.

    Our leotard that was given away over christmas time would work under, it has matzones in the right places and isn't overly high poly.  They removed it from the store now, but search your product library for "leotard", you probably have it.

    Never saw it, a nice PC+ for G3F.  I don't have anything to add as I like the bare shoulders, but thanks for the heads-up!

    There's also a common anime style of thepast few years to have disconnected sleeves. It's not just "easier to make"...

    Oh yeah, it's not JUST Daz. I never figured it was easier to make because there's plenty of stuff that DOES have shoulders. And I like it whenever I can justify it... it's just hard for me to imagine a girl who spends her day stooping to pick flowers not having shoulders on her dress.
