How to insert Daz people into existing 2D images.

I want to put Daz people into the 2D image I attached here. Is there a workflow to do this?

Like, can I find a camera position that would equal the implied camera position of the image, and then render the scene with ony people in it and photoshop the two images together?

That seems like the way to go. But it would be a lot easier if the 2D image could be translucently superimposed over the viewport so I could match the camera positions. Does Daz Studio have a translucent super-imposer feature like that?

I would insert the image as a backdrop in DAZ.  Go to Windows/Panes/Environment

And then through the camera view, match the floor plane with the image's floor plane and you should have the correct perspective and vanishing point to superimpose the character in PS.

Hmm... I'm not sure how to answer this...

This is complicated because based on the words used, it implies you are new to 3D... Please excuse this assumption if you are not.

One way to do what you are asking would be to use the image you provided above and attach that to a "primitive" plane (basically a flat square)... This thread should explain that process... https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/74930/how-to-apply-an-image-to-a-primative-plane

Rotate the plane so it is facing the camera

Then setup the figures up in front of the flat plane (with the image on it) to mimic the poses in the image... Using said image as a reference...

When that's all sorted out and the figures are posed properly, delete the plane and render the image as a .png image... This should explain how to render only the scene (the two figures)... http://basic3dtraining.com/biggest-daz-studio-iray-secret-fabulous-lighting/

A PNG image file will allow you to have only the rendered figures in the image, on a transparent layer... You can then put a copy of the original image into an image editing program like GIMP or Photoshop and remove the drawn figures and superimpose the DAZ figure onto that "live TV" drawing...

This is a very brief explanation and I'm assuming you have used image editing software before.

My deepest apologies if I've misinterpreted your experience level.
