as seen by my last post in the necrothread of skimpwear, I love it but as long as its non-sexist.

    My boys love it heart

and fully expect to be wearing it in a scene where the girls are.

you'd have to be pretty big and very strong to use full heavy armour which also means you move slower so wearing less can be an advantage allowing more flexability and speed as well as distraction and very intimidating if it was an 'excited' naked scotsman running at you

Full plate armor wasn't nearly as cumbersome as you'd think. For one, it weighed about as much as (or even less than) what modern soldiers carry around, and it was specifically designed to distribute the weight throughout your body.

Here's a video that demonstrates the flexibility of a full harness.

damn you don't see them doing that in the movies/tv wearing armour like that. Saw near start the one with the pointy toes forgot seen pics of armour like that and others that were very spikey and heavily detailed like a character which Ive read some complained about spikey horny armour here pretty cool vid

  • well Conan never well rarely wore armour preferred just a loincloth, boots and gauntlets sometimes shoulder armour and he did pretty well same with Kull and Tarzan ok he's kinda different to them and I've only seen the trailer for the last movie but in that he's wearing trousers? kinda don't look right out of character

The Firebride Dress is one of my faves.  It has some of the most realstic looking drapery.  And, the pieces can be mix n match if you want more of less undressed.

Hear, hear. I'm perfectly fine with skimpwear, but I do find it a bit *off* when the girls are in chainmain bikinis and the men are in full body armour.

Also I'm not a fan of desperate justifications of why it totally represents something. No. Your boob window does not have deeper meaning. And that's okay, but don't try to blow smoke up my... nose about how it's deeply connected to the character's spirituality.

Whew... glad I havent put in a boob window in anything lol (that was the most amusing post Ive read all week)

:trying to think of a connection: Boobs are the windows to the soul? (straight thru the ribcage and straight on til morning)

classic which reminds me about the new Wonder Woman there were a few complaints she wasn't hairy and that she should be unshaven

  • Getting off topic...But, I think a show featuring a middle aged, out of shape, man or woman...with a super power, might be kind of interesting.  I guess this was kind of the idea behind the Incredibles.  But, what about some mom type that because of some trauma, finds out that she has some sort of stress driven invulnerability...wants nothing to do with being a hero, but finds herself in situations where she can't ignore or bow out.  Even some grandmother type would be good....hmmmm.

Back on topic...I guess there wouldn't be much call for skimpwear in either of those scenarios...LOL

In general, I'd have to say (in a very non sexist way), that skimpwear of any kind generally looks best on people who have the attractive bodies to show off.  Personally, I tend to wear a lot of bulky sweats these days... ;)

I have only myself, beer, and the time I spend sitting on this computer to blame....:P

Well, in the books, Conan wore the heaviest armor he could afford at any given time... Tarzan lived in a jungle near the equator, and Kull was a wonderfully fun bad movie.

Not quite (by a long way!) super-hero, but for a great, fun read about a normal mum doing adventure stuff, try 'All fun and games until someone loses an eye' by Christoper Brookmyre?

I have this weird concept of After, where some strange event mutates/kills many people, but also gives a bunch powers.

    And then there's Super Doug!

Who is a bit like Superman, and so he's also a bit overweight. Because think about it, if everything around you is essentially light and airy, wouldn't it be hard to avoid putting on a few?

I'm partial to dzheng's male skimpwear. Wish he'd update it for the current generation though.=-)

And back on topic - my favourite skimpwear is anything not worn by me ... blushdevil

  • Workout gear. And leggings. The kind United Airlines won't let your daughter wear.

I haven't crossed as stream using a wire bridge since my military service and the 36 hour survival hell in June with midnight sun, and 2 am we needed to cross a deep icecold stream, so two guys had swim over with ropes anf tie them in trees on the other side so the rest of the squad could cross without soaking equipement. Nobody fell though, so we all got lucky, and thw swimmer had a chocolate bar to share for their kind duty

I love it....just make him about age 50 and you definitely have what I was thinking about.  An innocent bystander, hogging down a couple of Chicago dogs and a couple of Cokes, looks up just in time to see this crazy flash of light engulf him......

  • there was the golden age superheros and the first Superman was of that type a guy in his 50's

  • I got from my grandfather several Conan comics which also included Kull and he was a big fan of The Phantom - The Ghost Who Walks- not really skimpwear but was a tight costume which was interesting when one generation was a female and had to pretend still was the same guy

  • wild guess I'm guessing a lot of these outfits are too skimpy to post renders here? Be nice to see a few more examples

I love Nocturnal Guard... I haven't been able to justify buying it yet, but someday....
