Is there any way to center an object in the viewport...not centering the viewport on an object?

Hi. I am really hoping this is a thing...its hard for me to move objects to a certain spot when i am working with large environments. Please let this be the case!

Mcasual has a number of free scripts that move items around a DS scene, but it sounds like what you want is Comethhere. Select the item in your scene menu, run the script and it moves to directly in front of your current camera: https://sites.google.com/site/mcasualsdazscripts7/mcjco
please tell me this can be converted into a button!
Any script can be made into a Custom Action - just find the file in a content pane and right-click, then select Create Custom Action - that will add it to the Scripts menu (and add the Scripts menu itself if needed). You can then turn it into a button by opening Window>Workspace>Customise, finding the toolbar you want to add it to in the tab on the right, and finding the action itself under Custom Actions at the top of the list on the left - just drag it across. Be aware that DS will use the text of the filename as the button if there isn't an icon - if the script already has a thumbnail that will be used for the button (shrunk down) but if not you may want to create a suitable image (in PNG format) to avoid a long text button and assign it by right-clicking on the custom action in the list on the left (right-click also gives the chance to assign a keyboard shortcut).
Well, it does show as a button in the scripts folder of your Content Directory, but if that's not convenient enough, just hIghlight it and select the create custom action option from the dropdown menu. Now it'll appear at the top of your screen in the scripts pulldown window. I keep several dozen of my most used scripts there... the posebuilders, the iray base shader, and a bunch of mcasuals like lookatcam, stareatcam, etc.
