There's two options, zipped and unzipped. You click which one you want, they're presets.

Are the lights and cameras included in the Stonemason product? What things can you move or hide? And I'm assuming the puffs of smoke are postwork? I'm sorry, I just can't tell at all what really is the product, what are enhancements and what is postwork and artistic... And a blurry bokeh promo makes no sense to me...

the scene comes pre lit, just set your sun/sky lighting in Iray to late evening, adjust exposure and you should get what's in the promos, the steam is included as two different props.

the rain is postworked, there's over a hundred different parts you can move/hide etc..blurry bokeh is just to show that you can acheive blurry bokeh with this environment

Ah, thanks! I appreciate your answer. Everyone loves your products and talent so much they throw anything you create in their cart immediately no questions asked, but it's still nice to know what's actually in it! And since I don't have NVIDIA rendering, I like to know if it can be rendered in pieces on a CPU only computer. And since my knowledge of lighting is still low, I like to know if lighting is included. Thanks again for your response.  smiley

There's the usual two or more for 50%, but if you buy two or more Newly mad (today's releases) you get another 20% off. Add in the 10% bonus buyer and I'm getting today's new releases at 64% off. Add the third item and you also get three of the Daz Originals free. It's a very good deal if there's stuff you want. I'm actually contemplating doing it twice to get six free DOs, as the cart works out under $25 for three new release plus three freebies.

I... I can do it twice? surprise

    OH MYYYY  GOOOOODDDD

    IT WORKS

  • I'm just viewing it as "Buy 3 sci-fi sets at 79% off, get nifty lights, a character, and an outfit that you'll never use for free."  Perfect timing that the corridor, hanger, and starslayer outfit just cleared the new products gate.  For that percentage off, I'd have bought the 3 sci-fi sets without the free new items.

This is pretty much how I treated it as well.  Totally chewed through my store credit but I was able to get some of my most-desired wishlist items.  And yes, you can make a second purchase with the other three newly mad items to take advantage of a second set of freebies.

I can't seem to get the discounts to work at all. Dumped my cart and started over. I have two Newly Mad releases and 3 from the featured DAZ Originals which are supposed to be free:

You have to have THREE new items to get the three free items.

It's not working for me. 2 from today, one from yesterday and 3 items from the link about select DAZ originals. I do like the price on the Stone Mason, though. That's a great deal.

Thanks- got it to work with enough coffee, LOL. Almost did it a second time, but then I realized I don't really need the stuff that badly on the second time around, and the other things in my cart were the same price regardless. So got a gift card, did the deal once and am a happy owner of the new StoneMason and a bunch of other way cool sci fi schtuff that I have no commercial use for at the moment (none of my books are sci fi at the moment.) But I'm going to have a lot of fun! I am sad that I missed the unicorn flash sale yesterday. They go so well with Urban Future and Cyclops Suits! cheeky

You could work the other way around. See what props you have, and they can give you an idea for a book. :)

I'm just trying to recall, but the filelist from the readme seems to agree with me...there is a zipped suit and there is an unzipped suit and you load which one you want.

I always thought it was odd....why not just make a morph to "unzip"? But i'm not a modeller so there's probably a good reason for it.

It's none or all, if i remember right. I have it, but it's not installed at the moment so i ca'nt double check.

BTW...Anyone know if that Eclipse outfit can zip part way...or is it none or all?  I like the zipper effect...just thought it might be nice to not always have it unzipped to the naval. :)

Thanks,  I still might get it...looks like a nice jumpsuit.  I wonder how much trouble it would be to make a halfway zipped morph for it...change it from slutty to sexy...LOL  Undressing morphs would be cool for this kind of clothing as well...the whole "peeling it off" in the locker room kind of look.

Hmmm...I wonder if Zev0 or Sickleyield could come up with a universal set of undressing morphs a bit more extensive than the current Fit Control.  I'm thinking that maybe a geoshell could be applied to a figure then the clothes applied to the shell to allow larger deforms without totally screwing with the figure, then applying "undress bones" to the shell....just thinking out loud.  I can see all kinds of possibilities with that...wrinkled clothing, partially dressed, trailing sleeves, open collars, off shoulder...etc.  You could even have extreme morphs that turn the clothing into a prop, like wadded up laundry or rags.  Sorry - getting a little off topic here. :)

I don't know enough about it, but I agree.  I wonder if it's possible to export the unzipped model as an obj then reload it as a morph target and dial?  It wouldn't zip the jumpsuit up.  But, it might make it open and close in an okay fashion.

No, that's not how a morph works. For an unzip effect you'd need to be able to gradually extend the range of affected vertices but a morph moves all the affected vertices between their start and end positions in proportion to the value. I'm not sure a real unzip would be possible, even using a series of chained morphs that kicked in one after the other.

I don't see why not.  I'm not meaning a gradual unzip...just degrees of open or closed, as an alternative to a separate zipper morph.  Lot's of outfits have this kind of feature.  I might have to buy this just to give it a try. :)

You can create intermediate states as new morphs, but I read your post as being able to load the unzipped version as a moprh for the zipped and achieve an intermediate state with that - which wouldn't work, it could be more or less separated but it would still be open all the way down.

LOL, yes that's how I ended up with a couple more series to write. It doesn't help that @Redz keeps coming up with incredible characters like Shadowborne and Raj. At this rate, I'll be writing FOREVER.

Gotcha...yeah, that's what I thought...just thinking it might work if it was DFormed to look halfway closed, then exported as a new target..

"Congratulations! You are a March Madness bonus buyer!" No I'm not "Have these Legendary Swords for free!" they aren't free but that's to be expected.

Not sure if secret offer failing accidentally or failing on purpose to give people hints of secret offers.

Maybe the weekly freebie can trigger it?

Nope, I had the freebie in my cart at the time, when I added the swords to test they weren't free. I just checked again and it's still there - though I believe the swords did go up by $3.

Last freebie "purchase" was on the 8th, last money purchase on the 28th of Feb.

I've had to reload the cart page a few times to get the freebie to show as free.  But it works in an otherwise empty cart.

Despite it telling me I got a bonus buy for the swords...it never showed up as free in the card...and now it no longer says I get them, so I guess I don't get a bonus buy :(

Turn it in as a ticket. If you bought in the correct period, they should be able to see you should have been able to get them as a freebie.

I was waiting for it to appear free, reloading, trying different computers...so didn't buy it before it vanished :(

Yes, but if you bought anything during the period that it was free, that qualifies you. DAZ support might be able to add it to your library if you tell them that it never worked in your cart.

Does the Streets of Asia lights include the skydome?

  • exstarsisexstarsis Posts: 2,128

There's a skydome with Streets of Asia, but the first step in the new-released light product is 'delete the skydome'.

Well I sort of meant do you get what you see in the promos?

  • exstarsisexstarsis Posts: 2,128

It comes with an HDRI. When I followed the 1-2-3 steps listed in product view, yeah, I got exactly what the promos looked like. Unfortunately, didn't save those test renders and I have something else running now.

What goodies did you find today? A couple of the new items look good, but I haven't found any really mad sales today.
