No, you're not the only one. :)
She's not to my taste either. I'm just not impressed that she's another fairy/elven-style character, but that's just me.
Hey,
i really like her and will buy her tomorrow, but could someone tell me the name of the Hairstyle in this Promo Image? I´m sure i have seen this before, but i don´t remember the name! :(
Would be really glad if someone can be of help. :)
That's the one downside for me, the eyes; too big, but easy to fix.
Nope, you're not the only one.
that said, Mika is adorable and I'd probably only use her to dial in with other characters. And she has some neat items, so consider myself tempted to bite on the PB.
Well...had Mika and the Spring Plants in the cart...Mika Pro Bundle was at $22. So, I went shopping for other stuff in the low price range....NP. I left it sit for about a half hour, came back, went to check out...$5 price jump on Mika and $3 on the plants....Geez!
I realize it's still not a bad deal. But, I was ready to pull the trigger, then it all fell apart. I don't know if I'll bother, now. Those crazy shopping cart jumps really put me off buying.
Wait...it just changed back...okay then....LOL You just never know with Daz, how the cart will end up.
I like alot of the items in the bundle, so I guess I'll bite the bullet. She looks good mixed with Aiko. I wonder how well she mixed with the legacy morphs from GF2 and V4? Thorne, we need a boy to complement all these girls you've made. I have all the male bundles, but not all of the girls.
Nope, there are enough male characters.
'We' should never really be used when what is meant is 'I'.
... Because some smart-arse like me will wander by and comment. :)
I probably will eventually buy the character itself although she does favor Ruby/the Girl 7 in style, however the bundle is really just more 'superhero' / 'villian' style skimpy clothing and there is an overabundance of that already.
It's a very nicely done model though as is the rest of the bundle, I just don't particularly need the theme replication.
Yes she's cute and looks well made but there was something about Giselle 6 that made her look really quite unique and not just like another fairy.
And with 2 fairy type girls, the chances of Giselle 7 appearing again are decreasing :(
Well I put her on my wishlist. I don't have a G3F fairy girl yet and if Giselle doesn't appear, maybe I'll eventually get her : )
I bought the Pro Bundle because of the great price for all the addons. The Sparkle and Shaya characters are much less Fae looking and would make nice looking teen characters on their own. The outfits are good looking fantasy wear. And, the Althea outfit is basic enough to turn into a modern mini dress. I would have rather had some other hair in the bundle, like the Rochelle Ponytail (used in the Bewitching Expressions item). But, they are still two hair props that I don't own already. Considering the value at $23 in cart compared to many other pro bundles, I think this is a good deal. But, if you don't need or want this style, it's probably not for you.
I don't really own any of the earlier faery characters like Isabella. So, I'm glad to pick this one up at a good price. I make most of my own characters these days. But, Mika should add some nice variations.
What really sold it for me was that I could either get the Mika Pro Bundle for $31...or, I could get the bundle and the Spring Flowers for the same price. I definitely would have bought the flowers, either way. Those other Badlands plants from Esha really bring life to Terradome 3. So, the flowers were an insta buy for me. I just wish I hadn't missed the awesome UltraScatter sale a week ago.
I can help with the G2 Legacies!
Mika with Giselle dialed in on left. Mika with Aiko 6 on right.
Mika with Keiko on left, Mika with The Girl 6 on right.
You know, she didn't grab me at first, but her Pro Bundle discounted down to less than 24 dollars when combined with all the other bonuses, and without the elf ears and slightly dialed down or cross mixxed and she's a nice addition to my runtime.
Love the Aliyah mix! I'm really surprised that DAZ hasn't lured RedStudio over here yet.
You're not ;). And it's not that I don't LIKE them - it's that I've been in this Poser/Daz game for 20 years now and I've seen and had my fair share of Thorne characters :). I might get her for the other stuff in the pro pack tho. I do like the clothes and hair and it's cheap enough...hehe.
Laurie
And then you'll get an even bigger smart arse like me, who threatens to list off every single female character in a list that would greatly outnumber the males. ;p
Hope that doesn't happen either. love Redzstudio's work and like shopping at rendo also.
Nice work on the Aliyah mix
Any of you who are on the fence and thinking about future purchases...I picked up a hundred dollar gift card for $74 after purchasing the Mika Pro Bundle for $23 along with the Spring Flowers for another $6. So, it's almost like getting the Pro Bundle for free if you plan on spending any more down the road.
Well I LOVE Thorne characters, especially the earlier pre-Genesis ones, and love big eyes with huge irises. As a matter of a fact when I was a kid, I used to draw them. Tons of them, I even made them into paper dolls, so I love this character. I'm finding I can make new shapes with her I wasn't able to with Girl 7 before that don't look like Girl7 but some are very similar to A4 or even A3, but that's fine with me...
She is, I think, the only non-toon character who doesn't look entirely human, except I guess the Girl. I'm doing a render now with her and the Girl and some more morphs and it's the first time I could get those huge eyes with her looking nothing like the girl but anime.. I have all the Thorne Hansdpan morphs and probably could have created something similar, but I'm having fun mixing her with different characters. Very happy with this purchase! Except the Aaliya Princess dress, which has a weird bending problem I'll post later and hopefully will be fixed...
... of course, i know that; but I mainly use females, so from my perspective, that is what is important, which was the point I was making, not if there was more of one than the other, but that we can only speak for ourselves with any certainty. (I have no interest in a philosophical or metaphysical discussion: probably.)
I remember there was a post a while ago where someone mentioned how to adjust for that. Can you tell me how? I like the character, but need to 'real' her up a bit, like a few others.
Pro bundle for $22... meh... why not? $27 if you add in a texture pack. Not bad for two characters I like, two outfits I like and two hair I like.
Thorne dolls all look like members of the same family. This is not a bug, it's a feature, and it doesn't need fixing.
And Wonderland has hit the nail on the head. They link in seamlessly with what nearly all small children will almost always identify as "the prettiest". I suspect that there is some degree of social conditioning going on there. And I suspect that you will probably be as likely to see Thorne "types" in a high-end toy store as in anime art.
The big draw for adding her to the gene pool is her size. Yes, one can scale and dial-spin and end up with something similar, but being able to pass 'Go' and land at 5'5" and *then* start adjusting to the desired shape will save time. If you don't want a Thorne-style face, dial out the Mika head and start over from base G3F.
We seem to be starting a tradition. Fairy releases for MM. Didn't Izabella come out last year during MM?
(Giselle? No, not really. Similar face but very different body shape there. I think Giselle had one of the longest torsos of any G2 female that ever came out. And she was tall.)
While others are dialing down eyes, I'm dialing them up! This is Mika 100% plus some girl and several other morphs. This is EJ Cynthia skin which looks kind of blotchy on her and the eyelashes are a bit weird but all fixable in Photoshop. I'm happy to see elements of Aiko 3 &4 back!
Heh! Now she's beginning to look like Mavka!
*squeal* love so much
there really is something about her eyes. Like... they're crisper or something. I was comparing her closely to Izabella and the eyes are just plain better. My suspicion is they're designed to be a great base to morph from.
The character is a buy and the outfit!!!! Abyone got a lead on that?

I think Mika hits a nice sweet spot, seems very versatile - will be a sis for Izabella. I think she's going to make a great teen, anime character, and fairy. I like that many of her characters do look like family and I'm going to use some of them for that. I love that she seems to mix well with other characters and takes expressions well. Love that folks are getting a Aiko look.
I should have been more specific in my previous post. I love Izabelle and have several Thorne characters, but there are some of her characters that are too similar for me to buy any more of. It's when they have the exaggerated http://www.daz3d.com/pabu-for-aiko-4 look. It's a popular look, but I own Pabu and 20 other Thorne figures and morph kits. I like that Mika is a bit different, imo. I apologize if I came across as indiscriminately saying I didn't like Thorne characters.
The top looks like the Semi scarf top by Lilflame at rendo.
LOL, fine, "I" want a boy, there happy?
I love Giselle, I thought she was extremely unique and distintive. I enjoy mixing her with other morphs to elongate and slenderize more realistic charcters.
I was on the fence about purchasing Mika but the price of the Pro bundle kinda swung. She is cute.
