She's cute. She looks like a Thorne character. To me she doesn't really add much to the gene pool that couldn't be gotten from dialing in a little bit of The Girl. Aiko, or Star 2.0 But she is pretty cute, so I'm sure a lot of people will be happy with her. :)

Well, we can certainly test that. Shall I? It did look to me like Mika + the Girl provides a pretty good alternative to Star on the anime front, but that was in the promo shot.

I saw the name Mika 7 mentioned somewhere on the forum the other day and as the only Mikas I know of are all male, I assumed it would be a male character. So for me it was a disappointment to see it was yet another female character. Add to that, I don't do toons, elves or fairies, and I can easily pass on this one. Having spent what I can already this month on Giftcards, that sales pitch doesn't work on me either.

I can't believe no one else has mentioned it yet, but she looks quite a bit like Sunny 7. (At least in my opinion.)
I have to work extra hard to keep my faery folk from looking like Thorne characters (since they have a patent on the essence of cuteness); so, I don't need her, and the texture does not look very special either. But I REALLY like Skull Crusher Outfit and DA Fairy Poses. Perhaps the next female will be a true Anime girl. That's what's missing.
She looks like Genesis 3's answer to Giselle ;).

OK. I've generated side by side comparisons of the Mika 'genetic' morph with a handful of other characters. They're all on a base of Victoria, mixed in at 50%; Mika is always the one on the right.
The Girl and Mika, in Vicky's skin:
Star and Mika, in Star's skin and with Star's eyes. No idea why Star is floating.
Aiko and Mika, in Mika's skin
Izabella and Mika, in Sparkle's skin
The recent Grutilda and Mika, in Grutilda's skin.
My conclusion is that while she's certainly not exotic, she has really good eyes. For my purposes, anyhow. And yeah, she looks like Izabella's younger sister.
(I don't have Sunny, alas.)

I think if you took the Grutilda one and used Growing Up morphs to make her younger, they would look really similar!

Mika with Izabella added in at 50% (I think this combo proves the usefulness of multiple characters in this mold because she's pretty darn anime.)
Mika with Josie dialed in at 50%, with Aliyah (from elsesite) w/ Mika dialed in at 50%. Picked her because she has a wider, thinner mouth than Daz ladies tend toward.
The other big noticeable thing about Mika is that she's tiny, only a couple inches taller than Julie (estimating) and half a head smaller than Josie.
Whoo! Cute overload! There are some very nice expressions in the add-on packs. Toony, but not overwhemingly so. I can recall the trouble that people had trying to get a smile onto A3 and A4, these look very nice in the promos.

I thought it but we already knew it was a Thorne character and while they're lovely the multiple Genesis 3 characters she's made can mostly pass for each other (she looks more like Izabella to me but Sunny also looked like her and Josie could probably do decent approximations of all three.)
Pretty? Yes. Nice to have? Sure. Need? Not since I bought the other ones already.
I like the bundle characters and hairs a lot though.
All right, one more cold clinical comparison render since I was doing it myself to take into Photoshop: Mika and her Shaya character. I was a little surprised that Shaya was the exact same size as Mika. I guess Daz has its own 'Fun Size' set now.
Played around with daz3d for a few months 3-4 years and getting back into it. Don't have too much in the way of Gen 3 stuff so when I loaded the Mika Pro bundle in the cart and added the fey poses for further discount and got both for around $30 it became an instant buy for me. I like the look of Mika as well and needed a "cute" female model to add to my collection. So win-win.
Same with Daz Horse 2 yesterday. Wasn't really thinking about getting a horse model but getting the Daz Horse 2 Pro bundle and the Gen3/Horse 2 poses and also had a deal for M7 stand-alone (which only being back a couple days I didn't have yet) all for $20. Who could resist that.
Restarting my PC membership was a good future discount decision.
Yeah, I'm super happy at how she looks when converted to an NPR style.

I saved my Platinum Club coupon just in case she was of interest. Not exactly what I was hoping for. But cute and useful. I didn't think Daz would make a female adult this short. (about average). Thanks for all the renders, folks. Sold.
She reminds me of Aiko 3 but can take expressions better. I'm rendering a mix of her now with some Star in her and a few tweaks and she is adorable! I do think she adds to the gene pool, definitely more fairy/anime than Sunny, Tween Julie and even Josie. I never liked Aiko 7 but only got her because of some nice PA morphs. My laptop is taking forever to render her but she is sooo cute! She is now in my top three favorites of the gene pool, the other two being V7 and Genevieve,
She's being sold as a fairy, so I question the term; are fairies mammals? As they're portrayed here (they have a stomach button/navel), but personally, they aren't.
... But as a fantasy character, I suppose everyone can interpret them in their own way (including someone that runs around the woods in high heels
).
Cute? Certainly, but that might be just to beguile one before killing their victims - fairy tail characters are not usually Disney-friendly in many older stories; I tend to prefer those.

I caved when I saw how the price was gonna end up with all the discounts and the gift card added . I obsessed over Isabella for months and months and still ended up buying her so I figured I don't have anything to lose at this point. I agree with the other folks that have said she could probably be dialed in. All those sample renders show that she really is pretty close to other characters. And since I've got Gen X2 & have been busily transferring all of my Vicky 4 & Genesis gene pool over to Genesis 2 and Genesis 3, there's probably no reason for me to get her. But they made me an offer I couldn't refuse. Elves are always my downfall.
That makes 3 Thorne girl DAZ Bundles. They all look pretty much the same to me. Can anyone make a side by side comparison? I already have Izabelle, didn't bother with Sunny. But now that there are 3 of them, when can we start crying for a male Thorne cutie to match all these variations of the same theme?
When I saw the promo pics I instantly though Sunny crossed with Girl7, so that's a Pro buy for me combined with 25% off gift card its like I'm getting her for free :)
Character is not to my taste. I think I'm the only one on the planet who doesn't care for Thorne style characters. Enjoy.
I got the Pro price down to seventeen dollars and something by adding other things to the cart and using my monthly coupon. 'What a bargain!' I thought, closely followed by 'But do I actually want all this?'. I took another look. Sure, it said 'New' on the tin, but there was nothing new there really. Not to me, anyway. It's quite liberating pushing that 'Empty Cart' button :)
I didn't think she was quite so "Thorne" as the others, plus not having Sunny or Josie 7, she fills a gap for me. I don't care that much for Thorne's extreme doe-eyed look, but Mika doesn't have that for me. I think Izabella has a sister with Mika and Sparkle and I've got another fairy for my arsenal. And I'm loving what I'm seeing with folks mixing others in. Now I have a reason to buy Grutilda, just have to wait for her to go back on sale, lol.
