thanks you got some interesting ones there too
I'd like to see more non-scary creatures and aliens. Kind of like some of the images above. Beautiful fantasy creatures or aliens, colorful, exotic...
That's what IT looks like. Cthulhu is a Great Old One.....not a race. He's estimated in the stories to be close to a hundred feet in height, aquatic but able to walk upright on land as well. The very sight of him inspires madness. "In his house at R'lyeh dead Cthulhu waits dreaming." "That is not dead which can eternal lie, And with strange aeons even death may die."
(though the "Star Spawn of Cthulhu" are a race which he sired, and resemble him somewhat, though are much smaller....only around 40 feet tall....)
A centaur.
unless your Eric Cartman than Cthulhu is just a big old loyal puppy
Plant people.
Cat people.
+1 for Unicorn and Bird - particularly an Iray realistic raven
1)We need a new customizable 4 legged Nybras-demon vaguely inspired in a freakish Ctulhu fashion like. With a predator-insect Mantis touch between customizing options :) In resume, mantis legs and tentacles on mouth or head. 4 legged insectoid alien invaders with tentacles are always welcome. Would be cool a mutant dial to spread more or less chaotic tentacles by its body.
2)Also we need a cute customizable and misterious little alien built by parts like those pixies http://www.daz3d.com/power-pixie. Adorable look like Kodamas with tentacles please!! Some painted with glow and strange substance shaders.
I am a very tired of seeing all the new creatures in store without good customizable options, we need more support from the original creator to extend customizing capabilities on the future customizable new creatures like they did with Dragons, Nybras or Power Pixie.
Sadly, that was mine. And it's the one I mentioned got culled because a partner on it got culled. It was also positively ancient, around 2008 or so.
Cool! It doesn't look ancient.
Centaur updated.
Classic Kobold
Classic Bugbear
Well, I already have a bugbear. If you mean D&D 1st edition, that version is pretty much theirs - and, IMHO, looks rather goofy. Like Cherbacca with tushs and a big club.
It looks great! I'd definitely buy something like that Kirin. Also worth a thought: Riding animals (is "mounts" the right word?). For many a creature, having a saddle and reign add on would probably help sales, as it would make them more versatile.
Reins and saddle? Hmm... guess it would dependon the critter. Like, the Dracolossus would be better off with a howdah. :P
The easy way to do that would be for the merchant to make a Horse or Dragon autofit clone for it, or both.
Toon Creatures/Monsters/Races would be a definite purchase for me... provided they're not DS4+ only.

That would really only work if the figure is roughly similar in shape. Otherwise, things would twist, mangle, and distort like mad. And the presence of, say, wings on the shoulder blades would destroy things like that.
That Kirin looks cute! Wish there would be such a beast now.
Hmm, I see an interesting pattern here.
Valandar: "Hey, gang! What would you guys like?"
Customers: "We'd like this."
Valandar: "Sorry, rigging's too complicated."
Customers: "Well, what about those?"
Valandar: "Er, those will need 'geo-grafting' with premeire figures."
Customers: "Then how about these?"
Valandar: "I'm sure D*Z would not be interested."
Customers: "Maybe them?"
Valandar: "Won't work with .DUF file structure."
Customers: "Then why bother asking us?!"
Sincerely,
Bill
What about Kappa? There's a lot of different interpretations out there, but the bowl-of-water head could have lots of possibilities. Or more Golems? I think there's mostly metal and stone ones available, but golems could be made of anything; ice, wax, bone, etc. On that note, elementals would be great too. I can't immediately think of any existing models that would make a good air, water, or fire elemental (a few golems could pass for earth though).
Right, so since there isn't one in the store anymore, we need a new one.
I have the old one too and it is cute as heck. I also like the idea of alien pet dogs and things, since you refuse to make a kitten for me. Heh.
Yes I like the Kirin as well
Now there is something which would be great: Make a Kirin with a toon morph, so that it can be used in realistic fantasy as well as in mangas or toon worlds. Rigging would be the same. Yes, I know, skin differs deeply, much work, but then, it would be versatile.
So far, here's what I've taken away from this thread:
1 ) A riding drake. Somewhat saurian, definitely more massive than the Hunting Drake.
2 ) A kraken.
3 ) Things I either can't do yet, or have already been tried and rejected.
Hmm... :P
Also a recurring theme of 'toon style X,' which might be worth pursuing.
Dracolossus/Deep Sea Dragon weren't instant purchases for me, because they were bulkier body designs than my projects tend to require. More smoother or streamlined versions would have been better. Of course, I can't speak for what others use them for, just my own stuff.
Perhaps something modelled on the giant squid, except with mouths or beaks on the end of each arm? Squid arms are particularly interesting, because they not only have conventional suckers, but a vicious ice pick-like talon in the centre of each sucker. Give it an additional Iray texture for a more glistening appearance and you could portray it submerged in something slimy living in caves.
Perhaps a modern, Iray-compatible, fantasy arachnid. Model it on a funnel-web, like the LOTR team did for the live-action Shelob design. Or, alternatively, an extraterrestrial take on them, as per 2001's 'Arachnid' film:

Ever since I first saw the recent Daz Dragon 3 figure, I also visualised it with a proper shark's head. Looked very cool in my mind and nobody's yet done a streamlined shark-themed creature morph for that. Great White Dragon 3 could be a seriously impressive creation with Iray technology. Then people could use the various different available pose sets for it.
I'd also really like something like a tailed, four-limbed humanoid with an insectoid head and Predator-like mandibles. Something you could picture leaping out of the trees, abducting victims and then tearing them to pieces up high in the branches. I love insectoid-looking head designs with intricate functional jaws.
Maybe some bio-technological-looking weapons, like the tyranids have in the 'Warhammer' games? You could probably make all manner of animalistic things with moving legs and then try to adapt them into a blade or barrel with a trigger and sight. One could imagine a futuristic setting being good for those, but also maybe a fantasy world where one race has adapted the liffe around them to serve as weapons - or perhaps simply tools.

That series also has some nice tentacle-headed monstrosities from that which might inspire you, also. :)

Perhaps some hybrids?

Or just plain unsettling combinations?

There was also a UK TV show, back in the 1980s, titled 'Knightmare', which was very sword-and-sorcery. Everyone who watched it remembers the 'Catacombite', which was basically an ape-like skull with bones to make it move in a spider-like way:

In regards to bones, this artist makes some very impressive fantasy-themed creations out of them, which might inspire you:

Would also be really nice to have some geografted pincers and claws, so that we could make human figures look like they're hybrid experiments.
Thank you for asking us.
Thank you for remaining engaged while we offered our seemingly contradictory feedback.
Look forward to whatever you consider going forward..

Cute Cthulhu (My Little Maddie) and like beasties that go with toons and all. My daughter has this IRL and it is adorable. Would love to have a DAZ version. There are others also: The Four Horsies of the 'pocolypse. Something like these.

For Sci Fi renders I d love to see some gen- modded pets--- miniature horses scaled like jeweled dragons with peacock feathers for tails, a slithery serpent with a lions ruff and a face with the soulful eyes of a cocker spaniel....rats with fluffy tails like husky-dogs andspotted like leopards or zebras...
yeah new variations of the daz dragon 3 that makes him more unique and not like the others, wingless, different types of legs chicken bird like, extra eyes, tenticles, mandables, insectoids, chameleon type eyes, bug eyes, pincers, did a photomaniplulation once of a scorpion type creature with a humaoid face. Hybrids always nice cute and cuddly as well as vicious ones. Animals with human faces often strike a nerve in some so those are good. BTW folks angel wings are coming for g3 seen someone preview them coming soon
