there's a couple of products that had lobster claws tried to parent to g3 not so much luck yet I did do some praying mantis type arms this was just the arms of a hidden figure morphed elongated with different morphs and hands hidden replace with spikes worked well was thinking about wings again most wings are back wings but in some creatures the wings are extentions part of the arms hands fingers with the membrane skin attatched to under the arms and sides llike bats we don't have that we need that
using the emoti guy character as a base someone could maybe do some interesting creatures/aliens/robots
Regarding insectoid stuff, there's the 'bio squad' conforming outfit stuff, looks promising.
Debating doing something similar. Hm.
Meanwhile, I have a VERY crude starting place for a certain critter, here...
I've read thar you can. I don't know how to do geografts at all, but it should be possible.
I know you mentioned mythology based critters...but when I thought about beasties and critters, it seems there was a void created when SA left with his horror/scifi creatures and there really hasn't been anything to fill that. A really good beefy werewolf...perhaps if possible in stages of transition intead of just the plain character? Then there are the furry style of characters ranging from anime thin whimsical to muscular serious. There are a few tails on the market but none really have any "flexibility" as in they are seem to be the devil spade style, what about having horns and ridges and scales? Perhaps the tail is split into two or more tails? Or a fox tail and one that can be either short or super long and super bushy? That is about what I can think of right now for things.
Crude, huh, Valandar?
(goes to weep into his beer)
I love this Kirin. I remember seeing it in the store, but didn't get it before it was gone.
Creatures in the spider wick chronicles books! These books have a lot creatures from light to dark, good to bad creatures and I think the genre also hasn't been done by a lot of sellers before, so I think it'll be a fresh genre in the store :)
Very cool some kind of mutant sci-fi cuttlefish
To be exact..
...
A KRAKEN!!!!!
Nice! Dude you Rock ! :)
Can I request a couple of extra morphs to your creature.
1) is there anyway you can add a flipper like morph to the end of a couple of the tenteicals like in this picture.
2) I donno if its even possiable , but it be very cool to have the mouth that work for close ups, you know like in the pirates of the carbean their Kraken had rows of sharp teeth, maybe you could do something simular with a beak like most cephalopods normal have or something. I'm very excited.
Have we done a griffin recently? Because I'm writing a book with a griffin..
Yes, there are some, but they're not quite what I had in mind. For one thing, my griffin has four paws rather than the eagle claws up front. Ancient griffins in Babylon, I think, had four paws. The eagle head and wings...I have considered photosopping, of course... Or not.

Sometimes we need more than 1 variation, perhaps an undersea horror story with mutated octopi is in the future :)
There is a huge mouth in between the tentacles, by the way - I intend it to have a row of teeth on the outside, then a few other semi-random rows, and then some sandworm like rows down the throat a bit. :D
Times like this, the forum needs a like button... :)
My 7th Sea players will not be happy... well, their characters won't be happy, at least. :)
Hmm. He's more octopod-y than Squid-y, and I usually picture Krakens as squid-y. That and he'd have to be scaled up a lot, since he appears to be roughly human sized by default.
He's still on my list of "critters to torture my 7th sea players with" of course. Can never have too many sea critters. :)
I dont know if its been brought up yet in this post, but I would really enjoy a multiple limbs product like four arms, http://www.daz3d.com/four-arms-for-genesis . The problem that four arms had was that it didnt accept textures easily and required post work, etc. to make it look good.
I'd give anything for an update to the DAZ Griffin. The one for the Big Cat 2 was ingenius, but unfortunately didn't replace the look of the older model.
AnotherUserName:
There's not a lot of solutions to the four arms thing. You pretty much need more skins.
How do you mean Will? Ive tried alot of skins with it. It was generally the shoulder and hands areas that had issues. I can see (from my amateur perspective) that UV mapping for 4 arms had to have been a pain.
Anyways, thats what I would wish for.
Because each skin texture in the MP would need an equivalent texture for the extra arms to function like you want. Because the extra arms would weld at a different spot on the torso than the 'real' arms, they cannot use the arm texture of the default figure without having serious seam issues, most torso clothing would warp unrecognizeably unless specifically designed to fit over the extra arms, and more.
I was just wondering about the seams. So it seems to me that you could place a duplicate texture over the second set of arms, no problem. The issue would be that the texture which normally would be continuing up to the neck would instead be joining into the armpit of the upper set of arms, therefore creating the seem. Would probably happen below the lower set of arms as well (all aound the shoulder for that matter). Hmmm.... Well, perhaps you're just the PA to solve such a complex issue Valandar!? It would be a day one purchase for me for sure!

Honestly, there's really not a solution for that besides creating a texture for the extra arms to match every single texture in the store, because there's no way of knowing what textures will be used by the end user. The clothing issue is also a factor.
What about a stand alone figure? Probably more work than pay off. It would need its own morphs and clothes, etc. Seems like perhaps a multiple limb scenario migh be a future tech thing? I dont know. Just thought id throw it out there.
RawArt did the original FourArms, and I'm sure there's a reason why he hasn't revisited the concept.
I have his Barsoomian ... and I've never actually used them in a render. (The Deadlands of Mars game was long since over.)
I've used the 4 Arms I think twice, both times for Exalted Fan art, and I got around the textures issue because I was using it for Five Days Darkness - who is the Shadow of the sun god, and therefore all dark grays and blacks.
