Do Flip Flops for A3 exist?

edited December 1969 in The Commons

I've looked practically everywhere. :\ The closes I've found were some old V3 Flip Flops that didn't quite fit no matter how much I tried manipulating them.

I have a pair from 2006, called "Tina_flipflops.zip" for A3... just trying to find where I got it from...

    ... hmmm... possibly from a "poser-corner.de"? ...

Doing a super quick Google search, I found .. uh... "evidence" of that on Renderosity under its free stuff section, but the link is broken and long gone. x.x

Not looking hopeful :(... can you model them yourself?

ETA: have you checked out the Aiko3 thread here: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/636/ ... I have a feeling that there's at least one or two of those freebies that had flipflops with them...

I totally have no modeling skills, and if I knew how, I'd try to fit the V3 Flip Flops I have to A3... If that's even possible, I don't know. Buuut, if you have that zip file, could ya send it to me? Or was it an item you have to purchase?

Ah, sorry, the Readme explicitly states:
    ----8<----<br /> Usage Rights:

You may use this package in any commercial or non commercial renders.
You may not resell the files or include them in another product,CD or package.
You may not give it away as a gift, or offer it for free downloading.
    ---->8----

I'd go digging through that Freepozitory A3 thread (mentioned above) though... I've got a vaaague feeling there are more A3 flipflops about, as part of other outfits... (`.`)...

Mkay. That sounds like a good idea. Tho', does that readme have an author or contact information by chance? 'Cause... well, otherwise, there seems no way to get it.

I'll PM you the contact info. Good luck! (^_^)/... (oh, and you may wish to PM "Mattymanx" and ask him if he knows of any A3 flipflops... there's a bunch of us A3 lovers lurking about - someone will surely come to your rescue).

Thanks a bunch. :) (Also can't seem to find this "Freepozitory" thing, unless it's the same as the "DAZ PAs Christmas Countdown - Annual Freebies 2012" sticky)

CrossDresser ( http://www.evilinnocence.com/crossdresser ) with the appropriate licence ( http://www.evilinnocence.com/aiko3-crossdresser-license.html ) will allow you to convert clothing from any supported figure to your target figure; including shoes and hair. You only need the licence for the figure you want to convert to.

Another product is Wardrobe Wizard ( http://www.philc.net/WardrobeWizard.htm ).

    $1.99 if you're a platinum club member - http://www.daz3d.com/shop/cool-summer-for-a3

Ah, I remember the Daedalus Peasant one. I was always skeptical to get it just for that because it didn't show additional pictures of them for me to make a decision on it. Sadly, the beach sandals with the sundress is a broken link (noticed this yesterday), and I've had Cool Summer for a while, but unfortunately those don't look like basic flip flops, and secondarily but a little less important, they conform to the bend of the foot instead of the bend of the toes, which makes them look a tad unrealistic while walking.

I'm not sure if the Daedalus ones do that, however. :o

Lelu's Lacey set has flip flops http://www.daybreak-studio.net/aikodownloads.html

Thanks for the help, all. :) I decided to just trail and error with EvilInnocence's CrossDresser 4 on a pair of Victoria flip flops to get the look I needed. Wasn't a perfect fit, but it works. If I knew how to model (well) for myself, I'd definitely make a pair for A3. The community could use them.

Instead of converting a pair and having it look a bit messed up you can easily do a manual fit with shoes and boots.

    Refitting Boots:
    1. Zero Aiko after you load her. The option if found on the Parameter Tab option menu when she is selected. You can make it a Tool Bar button for easy access.
    2. Load the boot(s). Depends if they load together or not.
    3. Position the boot so it kinda lines up with the proper leg.
    4. From here you may need to start scaling and repositioning the boot further depending on the boot.
    5. If the boot is a knee high boot then you may have to hide A3's Feet, Toes and her shin either from the surface tab, the scene tab or both depending on the boot.
    6. You will need to parent the boot to the proper part of A3's leg. If it goes over the knee then you should parent to the Thigh. If its below the knee then parent to the Shin.
    7. If the boots load together such as TreadZ then for each leg you will need to hide the unwanted boot.

You may need to use magnets or d-formers to help with the odd poke through.

Only real down side I can think of is that if you are not very accustomed or comfortable posing your own characters, then this makes posing A3 anoying at best. Have patience though, its worth it.

In this image here - http://mattymanx.deviantart.com/art/The-Pose-5-204187164 - I used the OverKnee Lace-up Boots for V4 by DX30 and hid A3's legs and parented to the thigh. I noticed that the knee bend in the boot lined up perfectly with A3's knee BUT, you cannot see her legs so only the boot got bent!

In this image - http://mattymanx.deviantart.com/art/Toon-Raider-103774369 - we see Staci by 3D Universe wearing Aiko Toon boots (by 3DU) Those boots load together instead of one at a time so there is actully two pairs of boots in the scene.
