Also, there is some strangeness with the PC+ discounts. Holiday Loyalty discount is applying to some of them (usually the addon textures), but not all of them. I've tried it with about 10 different New Release PC+ items.
The 60% off is in place of the general 30% HL Discount. Check the banner details again.
Also, the 10% for buying two items today will stack with the Christmas Day new releases and Featured Artists catalogs.

Yep, the discount is already applied. But, on other day items, the discount is stacked...at least the Holiday Loyalty 30%. So, you really have to check each item you want. Some of the PC+ items aren't working correctly. Autumn Chic didn't apply the 30% for instance. I don't know how Daz manages their sale items. I assume that they don't manually put every single applicable item in the varied discount categories. But manually or automatically, there are items that are missed. I waited last week for a particular item to get fixed for days. By the time it was working correctly, the sale had ended. I could have put in a ticket and I'm sure Daz would have fixed it for me. But, there were so many other things on sale that I wasn't too worried.
Daz sales are kind of like treasure hunts. At least a couple of times during a major sale some items will be discounted so low as to be nearly free (and some are free). But, you have to keep checking back and finding the super bargains. It all works out as I generally end up buying a few of the pricier items that I really want along with all the discounted stuff. Plus, because of the excitement generated by the sale, stale items are getting a new look over by everyone. It encourages people to buy something that they wouldn't have prioritized had it been at a lesser discount. In general, I don't use V4 or Genesis much at all. But, when all the older stuff is being discounted down to around a dollar, I'll often pick up a few things in the hopes that I'll be able to update the textures and fit them to G3 or G2. Old environments and buildings are good for renovating with new shaders. I had a lot of success with DM's Romantic Place by updating with Iray marble and concrete and iron shaders from Mec4D.
And, once in a while you'll see current models for deep discounts. It does take a lot of time to browse all of it and check prices. But, it's kind of fun too. :)
The way I read the Exclusive Offer message, yes, you should be seeing an additional 60% off. You can wait and hope DAZ fixes the website. The offer is good through Saturday. Or you can place your order and contact Customer Service about a credit.
You can pick up a Gift Card for 20.8% off if you combine the 10% off order-total in today's promotion with yesterday's 12% Gift Card offer. The 10% off obviously applies to your Gift Card qualifying items too, and with the 30% loyalty discount this makes all the new qualifying items almost 56% off. There's a bunch of PA stores that can also count toward the Gift Card - with the combination those items will be at 68.5% off.
Not bad. Better than dragging your face along a rough brick wall for twenty point eight yards.

If it REPLACES the HLR discount, then it could be construed that the price should be the normal 30% off for new releases, plus another 60% for HLR...making the cart price $4.90. Or, you could assume that the 72% is the new release price and should have 60% stacked on top. That would bring the cart price to $2.01. I can see why you'd think this since the wording makes it sound like the 60% is the one day HLR discount, and that is normally applied on top of any individual product price.
Also, I notice that while most of the new releases have prices at 72% off, there are a few that have the straight 60% off. I have no idea as to why that would be.
The Egyptian Mega Bundle (FWSA featured Christmas Day artist catalog) is coming in at a straight 60% off of full retail. So, no stacked discount on that one. I'm surprised, since the EMB is one of those bundles that regularly gets a deep discount. At one point, I had it in my cart for $8. But, prices changed before I got around to buying it...DOH!
With the current discount at 50%, you'd think that the 60% would be stacked, rather than just replacing the current price. That would bring the price to $18.99...close to what I expected. I tried adding a Christmas New Release to the cart. That brought the price down to $30...not terrible, but definitely not as good as recent prices on that bundle. So, I'm not really sure what calculation is being used...or if the Holiday discount is even being applied. My only guess is that the 30% discount is being applied instead of the 60%. That would make the price of the bundle $33.22. But, even that's a bit off.
Looking at the Toon Generations Megabundle. Really nice stuff in there, and a lot of it. Mixes well with the rest of the G3 line. Great selling point, which is why I picked up Star 2.0 when it came out. I'm not a big toon person, but that stuff is growing on me and I like the ability to mix it. I also have a little one who loves 3D art and often wants to create his own, so I'm getting the toons, the bears and maybe the rock collection for us to play with. Should be fun!

That's a LOT of stuff! It's cheaper than most Pro bundles and much more in it, even at full price. I think that's a great deal, even without the discounts.

I went kinda nuts for end of year spending, grabbing Ciri and the pretty new EJ hair to get a gift card, then using it to get the rock collection, fireflies to activate the 10% which made the fireflies cost around a dollar from memory, and then grabbing the toon bundle. And then I grabbed a bunch of the other Ron brush bundles, because if I was going to buy something as expensive as the toon bundle, might as well grab everything~ so threw in chinatown too. That 30% loyalty banner will be the end of me.
I think the toon bundle is totally worth it because it's so... complete. You can make characters of both genders in every age which will all fit together with each other, and get a whole load (12 pc for females, 8 for males >.>) of practical easily adjustable clothing and a range of hairs to build a whole crowd of diversit very quickly.

I'll pass on the toon bundle as I have no interest in toon figures (as my bank account jumps for joy at the news) It's like the SIMS have invaded Daz, LOL
Unfortunately, I grabbed those firefly brushes and used them in combo to trigger the extra 10% off my total order but didn't notice they were CS6 - CC until after I purchased and downloaded. I've bought so many sets through here that it didn't even occur to me to check that out. Unless my daughter's copy of PSE opens them, I've bought an expensive set of layer styles because I have CS5 which won't open them. All of the ABR viewer/converters only work with CS5 brushes and below. I guess if worse comes to worse I could download a trial copy of CC evilness and try to make me some PNG files out of them. Oh, well...learned at a cost of $8.36 that Ron's newest brushes won't be compatible since I am still resistant to the dark cloud.
Most of his brushes also work in Gimp, if that's any consolation. I have CS5 as well. Many of the brushes work great in it (not sure about Fireflies). I finally took the plunge and got the monthly Adobe subscription. It's only $10 a month and included the latest versions of Photoshop and Lightroom. Love it!

I did as well last spring. I find it easier on my brain than my old CS2. I love combining the action scripts I've purchased and Ron's brushes. His new Fireflies will come in handy.
@tykey I can't wait to try them! By the way, did you start a ticket with customer service for the free G2 base? I did, and they are helping me with that since I never got it to work in my cart.

Well... When I started with Daz, it was genesis 2. I bought a lot of stuff to start with. Genesis 3 came out about a week later.
Now I'm thinking of finally moving to genesis 3. I guess that means Genesis 4 will be out very shortly.

If history serves, it should be around late Spring-late Summer next year, as that's when Genesis 1 through 3 roughly debuted in 2011 through 2015 (geez, 2015 was already 2 years ago). It might come with DAZ Studio 5... unless it's still 4.9x something for 2017.
No I didn't. I might if the sale is still going on when I get paid, but the remainder of my money until then MUST go to bills. I absolutely cannot spend anymore till payday. If I don't get it, no worries. I have a gazillion Daz characters to play with anyway. ;) I did break down and get the Expedition Earth Bundle. Ecomaniacs is to be commended on a truly incredible product. It's so impressive.
Definitely this. $10 a month for PS and lightroom is nothing compared to what I and many others spend at the store here. I tried using various other programs instead but it was so much more work to do the same things.
Let's hope not as this will seriously curb my buying with a new generation coming out this soon. I would like to think I have learned a thing or two on when not to buy since V3 was out. Genesis was a big step up from V4 and I bought into it, no problem. genesis 2 was released to seperate the genders, supposedly because the vendors had a hard time working with genesis 1. I almost skipped genesis 2 and had just started to buy into it when genesis 3 arrived, so I quickly switched to the latest and have enjoyed this current product line, enough so that I can't possible thinf of anything the next generation will bring that will make me go all in on buying for a new generation.
I understand that all releases are meant to generate income for DAZ, but since the majority of users here are hobbyists and don't have unlimited pocketbooks, it makes me wonder of the viability of a new generation so soon when generation 3 seems to be doing so well with some new and innovative products still coming out. If anything, put more focus on tools and utlities for the core app
That might explain why they were willing to give away so much stuff up through christmas. Personally, I'm very happy with Gen 3 and only switched over about 1 year late. But, I probably have most of my needs filled by the content available so far, and folks generally continue to support the older figures for a few months here at daz and even longer at renderosity.
