    I understand that all releases are meant to generate income for DAZ, but since the majority of users here are hobbyists and don't have unlimited pocketbooks, it makes me wonder of the viability of a new generation so soon when generation 3 seems to be doing so well with some new and innovative products still coming out. If anything, put more focus on tools and utlities for the core app

    I don't really see what a Genesis 4 could offer me either. The figures are already so far ahead of the technology of the hair and clothing.

    I'm wondering if Genesis 4 may have a new feature that would justify Studio 5.0, much as Genesis 4's DQ skinning required Studio 4.5; Maybe muscle rigging or dynamic flab?

    Exactly. Maybe they were initially meant as extensions to the base character but with the same morphs and converters being re-introduced in each generation, makes it feel like those should have been there as part of the base figure or the studio itself. Unless Genesis 4 comes out with something revolutionary like real-time skeletal skinning, I doubt it would be able to make a strong business case to convince buyers to transition their investments into a new generation of stuff. While a strong improvement in features is necessary to build the momentum required to overcome the inertia of current generation, it could simultaneously increase the compatibility gap across generations and also hurt further developments in the current generation of Genesis 3.

    To be fair the base character is free, and for what you get I think the price of the head and body morph packages are totally worth it when you factor in the figure as well. Think of it as the Genesis 3 figure itself is a sort of free trial basic version, then you buy the full version via the two morph packages. And those base figures must be worth far more than any random character or whatever with all their fancy rigging technology.

    The Gift Card discount actually comes out at 20.8% off (e.g. a $100 card costs $79.20), as I mentioned in this thread yesterday. All the qualifying items were desirables at brilliant prices; so enjoyment was, indeed, had.

    A new generation is going to have to do something really amazing, probably with the skins or some other procedural technology. As it is, I've mostly skipped Genesis 3.

    Over the weekend both Skyler Bundles were about $7 each in cart with stacking discounts as Best of 2015 items; I was temped by the Genesis 3 model, but already have the Genesis 2 version and wasn't convinced there were enough advantages..

    I love the toons so far. Dropped a bunch of $$$ but they really are fabulous. 

    Today's offerings just aren't exciting me too much. I really want Kindred Art's Iray Ghost Lights, that looks great. It's tempting to get one more item to trigger the free starter bundle, but none of it's stuff I really need or would use at the moment. Beautiful, for sure. Perhaps I'll think about it and wait till tomorrow. I've picked up so many great things this month and want to actually render a few of them!

    I was wondering this myself, since the others (V7, Eva 7, Bathany 7, M6, and V6) are starter bundles, but M7 is just the base figure. Is it a glitch?

    Does anyone know or have tried getting more than one free bundle? If we do separate sales with new releases in each does it work? I didn't see anything about one time use only.

    It says one time use only. I put in one of the qualifying items and a bundle to see if the discount would apply, and it didn't - so it is just a one shot deal this time.

    Has anyone else noticed the Holiday Banner Discount not coming off of some things? Here are a few things in my cart where the discount isn't applying: 

    Dark Whisper, Casual Style and Moto Racer Outfit don't have any additional discounts. Montana and Sidereal do. Weird. Wondering if they are in a category that goes on sale tomorrow or was on sale recently, so the algorithms are off.

    So they skipped 2014 which would be the 70% /80% new release one? It goes 2013, 15, 16.
