How to make a realistically-sized visible sun in Iray?

A while ago I tried positioning the sun so that it would be visible in the background of a scene, but no matter what adjustments I made, it was always a blinding large white area with no visible 'sun'. Does anyone know the settings so that a small but bright sun can be made visible in an Iray scene? Thanks in advance.

Did you try "SS Sun Disk Scale" in the Environment category of Render Settings ?

I couldn't see any difference until I bumped up the EV a notch in Tone Mapping.

I did try the sun disk scale but I'm not sure I adjusted the Tone Mapping while doing those tests. I'll give that a try.

edit: Raising the exposure value to 16 made it visible. Thanks.

Another approach is to lower the environment strength to about .5

Turning the Burn Highlights per Component OFF and lowering the Burn Highlights value also helps.
