Content Downloader for RDNA

    I used thie a few days ago before a lot of my products started showing up in the store here.  Very handy.  I didn't have very many pages to go through, but it still managed to save me time.  So, thanks!!!

    No, you need to download one page at a time. I could have made the other thing, but it's a lot more complex.

    It's sort of a "use once and throw away" program so I'll only add the most necessary and useful functions.

    I'm working on an update with some new features btw:

    Download all promo pics (or as many as you want), not just the first, as well as certain other product page info.

    Download from gift pages.

    So you might want to wait until it's released (within a few days I think), otherwise you'll have to redo downloading extra promo pics and page stuff if you want that.

    Will post here when its done.

    Win 10 tried to prevent me from running it but I figured out how to bypass their effort.  Trying it out now.  Thanks for the updates

     

    Edit: how do I download from gift pages?  I cannot figure it out but looking at the tutorial at the moment.

    Just click the "Gifts To/Gifts From" link on the webpage. But I've discovered a minor bug with the gift download - a message box that pops up for each item. Will fix it and get an update out within a couple of hours...

    Actually there was another bug as well - it did not list gift items at all when you clicked the link. Everything should work allright now. Just run the program to auto update, or if update check on start is disabled, use "Check for Updates" under Help. Or download here:

    Wow.... wonderful idea.

    I wish it had come along sooner. I have all my RDNA items downloaded for some time.

    It would be great if there was a similar kind of item to help in items from Renderosity.

    You can also use it to get the promo pics and product page info without downloading the product files.

    And I'm actually working on a similar one for Rendo, check my sig link...

    @Kulay: I just realized that I forgot to include the Gift pages when making a product list, which makes the list incomplete. I only have one gift page though so I can't get the URL for other than page 1, which I can''t use as it has a different format than the URLs for the rest of the pages. Could I ask you to open gift page 2 in a browser (not in the downloader) and then copy the URL and post it here?

    Thank you, very much, for this wonderful program, Taozen!  I have all my RDNA files downloaded, now.  Do you have an estimate on when the Rendo downloader might be ready?  Will it be a commercial product?  I had a hard drive crash recently and I'm loading up my new drive.  I do have cloud backups, but my 3d stuff is kind of a mess on them so I'm wanting to redownload everything fresh and start over.

    I can't thank you enough for this great little program! After working as a QA tester there for 5 years, I have 42 pages of Downloads and 55 pages of Gifts, and it was so nice to be able to dl them all and put them on an external drive sorted by date with their product info and a promo as well when they were available.  It alerted me to the new UD last time I used it, so thanks for that bit.  Overall am very impressed.

    Only thing I wished it would have done was automatically download 'ALL' the pages instead of me sitting here loading the next page one by one, but that's just the lazy coming out in me!

    Thanks, I'm glad you found it useful! Downloading and categorizing files is one of the things I loathe most of all, I'll rather spend the time writing a program that can do it than downloading them manually, and if others can use it also, so much better.

    I could have made it get all files in one go but that's a lot more complex and since it's a "use once and throw away" program sort of now that RDNA shuts down I didn't want to spend too much work and time on it. It still saves you a lot if time as it works now, even though the RDNA server has become very slow lately when it comes to loading the download pages.

    Well, I'll have everything at Rendo redownloaded before then, but I will definitely still take a look at the commercial product because I suspect it will still be helpful to me.   I really love the DAZ Account Manager.  I hope your product will sell very well.  smiley  I don't have any gift pages at RDNA, but it looks like Sapat has that covered.  wink

    You're welcome! Note that the download pages at RDNA loads very slowly most of the time (may take a minute or more for each page to load), it's not the program that's slow or hangs. Not sure what they've done to the server, the pages loaded very fast before (= 2-3 weeks ago).

    Now that demand for RDNA downloads has slowed back down, I used your program to download and archive all my downloads at RDNA. Wow! What a real time saver over trying to download the files individually. Thanks for making the program available.

    You're welcome! I haven't noticed any problems with download speeds at any time though during the last couple of months, it's loading the download pages that's slowed down for some reason, and it's been that way for over a month now.

    New update is available, capable of downloading extra pictures and files (PDF tutorials etc.) on product pages, and more. These files may become unavailable when the RDNA store shuts down in a couple of days, so better get them now if you want them.

    Well download of purchased files should first end on December 31, but the extra product page files may (I'm not sure) become unavailable in a couple of days.

    Thanks for the .537 update.

    If you have purchased anything from RDNA, this is the best way to download it and make sure you have it all, before the URL's go 404.

    It is fast, doesn't miss any Archive or download a file twice, makes a complete lists of your RDNA products, and it is completely painless. Just sign in and 

    Thanks again Taozen for a wonderful application, and for you making it freeware. 

    I plan to buy your Product Manager for Renderosity when it goes on sale.
