Just to show that worked a treat.:)
Great renders Redz! :)
Laurie
Ms. Redz, that is an amazing render, and that is the best looking black hair I've ever seen! What is it?
Thanks Xyer0. The hair I made myself, using Look at at my Hair, a custom cap and some extra fiddling in blender. :)
Wow, excellent job! How long did it take you to make the hair?
I really need to learn how to use LAMH. I own it but haven't fiddled with it. I love the hair you made.
That's the bomb! When does it go on sale at Renderosity? Oh, yes, you have to share it; it's too good to keep to yourself! Please?
LOL, same here.
Yep, same here. It's sitting there waiting for me to take the time to learn it.
@AnotherUserName LAMH takes a whole lot of time and patience, and a bit of luck (it's still a little buggy).
@Xyer0 If I can get the hair to where I'm happy with it, I will certainly make it available, but Monique says shush and get back on topic - talking about her! ;)
She has great character in her face and takes expressions very well, IMO. Definitely seems a little older than her 6 version, but the previous renders show she can be de-aged very nicely. I can't wait to see Darius now.
So cute! Thanks.
My views on people, clothes & hair etc. might differ from many others. I'm a senior citizen at 66 years old. I've never cared much for painted women, piercings, etc. I have, however, regarded people of all "ethnics," races, etc. as merely "human." I've had the great pleasure of knowing some women of color. My search for friends or romantic partners knows no "artificial" boundaries.
I view Monique 7, and other "ethnic" characters as a liberation of sorts. Give me characters that reflect the variety of life. People are composed of so much. Race is just one of many parts of variety which make people so interesting.
I like to render more diverse characters-- old men in love, elegant gray haired ladies, black men and women, heavy people, children...
and also giant monsters, zombies, dinosaurs...
YES! :D Sounds good!
Beautiful character!
Monique 7 came a year and a half after Victoria 7, as Monique 6 did after Victoria 6. I would like for Genesis 4 to begin with Victoria, then an Asian, then an African, then a Polynesian. At that point, we would have the diversity of morphs and skins established so we could then have the usual slew of Caucasian types to continue. As an alternative to that suggestion: Perhaps the Asian, African, and Polynesian females could be released in successive months after Michael 8, as the second, third, and fourth mates of their corresponding Genesis 4 males. Either option would be far better than having to wait so long for a Daz Core representative for the different skintones and ethnic morphs.
Furthermore, this would better integrate with and facilitate the Morph3D line, since games typically are far more diverse than 3D hobbyist pin-up art.
I'm not sure I'd accept that as a definitive list of types - or indeed, as clear types in themselves. Obvious lacks are Nativer American (north and south), near-eastern/middle-eastern/north-African, Central Asian, and the Indian sub-continent. All groups with little if any coverage, no doubt others could be added.
They wouldn't be better options if they led to Genesis 4 being a commercial failure (then there might be no further releases at all). If what brings in the revenue is whitey pin-up and fantasy, that's likely what will be released first. Stuff needs to sell to make payroll and meet server bills.
If DAZ is missing a big market in diverse ethnicity, the gap will be filled by others.
I expect a similar pattern.
Not definitive, Richard, but Daz-defined, as you noted. One omission from the group I listed is honey-coloured skin, useful for many of the groups you named.
Consider, if you will, that the second option I suggested would leave room for six months' worth (June through November) of Caucasian core females (plus 6 x 2 of accompanying PA Pro Bundle figures) before introducing a change. Daz Core characters are the elite textures of the Genesis lines, and this is why I am lobbying for a policy shift. The gap for ethnically diverse photorealistic skins was not really filled by others during Genesis 3 (with the notable exceptions of the illustrious Raiya and Saiyaness). We know from experience that Daz does listen to its customers. If Monique 7 and Darius 7 do not sell well, then I, too, would expect the usual pattern. Monique 7 certainly has less associated characters than her Genesis 2 namesake.
Actually it says a lot, without saying a lot that we can so casually consider that the inclusion of a few ethnic characters could be so unmarketable that it can cause a company to lose money and then roll with it as "well that just the way it is; gotta' do what you gotta' do".
It's really nice to know what kind of society we really live in, and the attitude one needs to take to be profitable in it. And you wonder why so many people balk when some group uses a hypen before "American" when they designate themselves.
As a hyper-optimistic realist, I have chosen to see things, warts and all, as they are, rather than as they appear. This saves me a lot of time jousting with windmills. By peering deeply into my own heart (at that time), I discovered that civilisation and civility are mere conventions which are eventually abandoned when the pressure (either economic or egoic) is on. And I have observed this to be widely true among the upper and middle classes of the West. But, since I know that I, too, am / have been susceptible to high-falutin' hypocrisy, I endeavour to extend graciousness when others speak matter-of-factly regarding the otherwise reprehensible status quo.
I am sure that Monique 6 and Darius 6 sold very well over the span of the last two years. But, as they were released in December (after consecutive PA, halloween, and thanksgiving sales), they may not have initially sold well. From what I have read, many people are financially tapped out at this point, and they have been forced to wishlist Monique 7 rather than purchase her now. Long story short: The lack of initial sales does not always indicate ultimate sales figures. My request for earlier ethnic Daz Core models is so that I can adopt Genesis 4 earlier rather than later.
One thing I miss with Monique and her kind, AND with all other ethnic populations as well, is an aged version with heavy weight. Not Bethany. She's young, pin-up-like. Someone like George for females, but stockier build, like a woman who has borne several children, worked hard, put on overweight despite all the work, and has aching bones which force her into different movements, a bit lending on a cane, but still smiling all over her crinkly face.
Have you seen Saiyaness's Opal? She's not as large as George, but she's fantastic.
Opal ... first time I really looked at her body in the promos, not only at her face. Yes, you are right, Opal belongs to the kind of people I'm looking for.
That's a shame; what the Nazi's did should never be forgotten.
haha
I wonder where all the addon characters for Monique 7 are. Aiko 7 had about half a dozen shortly after her release.
What if we were doing a fanart from captain America or other movie with villains that are Nazi. Not all characters are good role models or good in general. Not promoting Nazism or genocide but the villain might be.
I really hope we start seeing them soon.
