Subject: Poser: Looking for good, slobbery, icky, sticky, creepy 3d poser Drool...
in The Commons
Halloween's coming. Looking for Poser Drool. Something for generation 4 characters or maybe even V3 if one exists.
Would like to see it as a 3D model Prop/char, not a Photoshop brush.
Has anyone seen, good, slobbery, icky, sticky, creepy 3d poser drool prop or figure anywhere?

Look at Flinks' WaterFX at Renderosity. I've changed the materials to my own in the material room and done some silly, non-water things with the props. I gave Kiki a big squirt gun and let her chase the Jersey Devil (by Sixus1). It's an on-going story idea for my "Steam Baked Delivery Service" set. The poor girls kept getting raided by JD. So, in defense, they loaded a really big gun with pink frosting to sweeten him up and send him on his merry way... LOL

I did a few similar things with the props, changing materials. Most of the pics I never posted online. So they're lost now, because the computer messed up in January. I need to at least start backing up images somehow, even if it isn't online galleries.
Here at Daz, there is a puddle prop in Predatron's old Trash Stash, too... You could play with materials on that, if you have it.
Freebie: https://www.renderosity.com/mod/freestuff/?item_id=64595 You may need to use several and rescale and possibly change materials in the material room
or retexture something like this: http://www.sharecg.com/v/19033/related/5/3D-Model/Waterfall-in-Object-form-for-Poser-and-many-more
Tigger, Charlie, I'm looking at what you've shown me but none are dead-on. The spray is neat, but not drippy slobbery (cool images). They seem close and possible. I would have thought that in the Poserverse someone would have done this already. Charlie, the rendo freebie might be hard to modify, but I have to look more closely at the waterfall.
Tigger - On images, for an easy and relatively (but not positively) reliable thing to do is use SD cards like they have in cameras. A 32 GB yellow label (class 10) high speed SD card at Microcenter (Kansas City main) is currently $8.99 (see below). So far I've been using yellow SD cards for about 5 years without incident [and some of my smaller cards are approacching 12 years old], though you're not supposed to count on them long term. I (try to) back up my files on an HD and use the SDcards as auxiliary because they're inexpensive.

(64gb is $15.99. Haven't tried that high yet)

I don't ever use thumb drives for possible back-up because they have miniature circuit boards in them that seem to cause more troubles.
Also, Tigger, if you still have your HD you may be able to recover your data. I have used something called UBCD which had Acronis and/or Ghost on it to make a bit-by-bit clone of the damaged disk then used a recovery program - Acronis or Siwss knife - to recover the data. Making the clone to operate on saved me, The first try to recover the disk failed and I found a better way for the damage that I had. But the initial try had changed things on the disk. By cloning the disk a second time my second try (with I think a subset of Acronis) worked.
I use the zombie add-on a lot for any kind of drippy drool type stuff, just change the shader
http://www.daz3d.com/add-on-for-zombie
Zombie is more like it! Getting closer! Nice ick! Hate to be picky, but I'm still only Poser and this is DS.
PS Tigger, if the spray doesn't work on JD try a funnelator (the big funnel on surgical tubing). I hear it can really launch frosting bombs a long way!
They are just props, and likely to have a single material zone, so would be trivial to convert for use in Poser. Btw, if you are not too prudish, another option is to nip over to the renderotica site and check out the various splash props there (I think some are for V4, but I am not sure), but props are included for things dripping out of mouths, so would be suitable for drool. Naturally the intention behind these props and the nature of the liquid are (cough!) something entirely different, but no reason that they could not be used for horrible creature drool, though some kit bashing, and definitely a new material shader would be needed!.
If you take a look at Flink's Water FX again, it has more than just the spray props. There are droplets, puddles, ect. Really cool stuff and I haven't used all of them.
On the SD cards: Yeah, just startted experimenting with microSDs. Put some music on a card to play on a wireless speaker. Pretty cool. I was actually thining about picking up a Samsung 16 gig one to try it out for image storage. I like the idea because they're small and discreet. If I wanna bury my pics so nobody will ever find them when I'm dead and gone... LOL
I'm still hopeful the other PC is salvagable with some work. But, I have a very small "Poser corner" in a very small house. So working out how to set everything back up to see is a bit tricky.
LOL... Now there's an idea...
Ok... Well, it's late and looking stormy outside. I'm off for a snack and then eventually, bedtime.
Havos - I'm not prudish and I'll take a look. (I do find some things as things I'm just not interested in or wouldn't do but long ago stopped passing judgement. Creativity takes many forms. And this said piously by one who is looking for icky drool). Thanks!
And thanks for the prop conversion thought. If I were to buy it any sugggestions for how to convert the DS format to a Poser format on Props?
I'll look more closely.
For SD cards I Iike these cases that hold 12 on ebay. They're transparent and come with labels that I cut in half so I can see the face of the card beneath. I like the labeling system and the fact the cards are held separately and keep away any contact from the brass contacts. Here's the vendor I'vehad success with:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Memory-Card-Storage-Case-Holder-for-SD-SDHC-MMC-MicroSD-by-Altura-Photo-/201010635923?hash=item2ecd2ae493:g:K7AAAOSwNsdXTKTV
You can probably even bury them and they won't leak, thus preserving the cards' integrity.. But I suppose that's not why you'd want to bury them,
I've not used poser as I don't have it, but the zombie add ons come with the dson importer which i believe is for importing the daz files into poser. And yes, each prop is a single mat zone.
I think you would need to use DS to make the conversion, unless there is another tool around to convert DAZ dsf files into obj. If you have DS installed then load the prop, select it, and then simply export is as either pp2 or obj. Then load into Poser and adjust the materials.
You might be able to use a few things from the liquid pack http://www.daz3d.com/liquid-pack .
Barring finding something specificaly made for the purpose, Flinks and Liquid-pack are front contenders. Flinks has this grouping that holds promise:
That's a nice looking case. I haven't found anything similar for the microSD cards.
Errr... Because otherwise, I'm going to leave a legacy of bad non-art behind me? Ignore me... I've had a couple of comments bashing my pics lately, so I'm a bit tetchy... I never claimed to be an "artist" anyway... LOL
Excellent. The set is really fun to experiment with.
I'll preface my example here with two statements:
A.) I am not a material rooom guru.
B.) I use mostly toons, so I don't worry about realistic, so much as fun...
One of the material room gurus from the Rendo forums (or elewhere) might be able to help you set up more realistic drool, snot, vomit, ect...
I set this toony, oddball example in about two minutes. It took longer to render than setup... But this is using two of Flink's Water FX's with my own screwball shader.
Heer's what the props look like pre-render in the preview window. So, you can see the props are just aligned with the mouth. The properties of my oddball shader changes the shapes a bit (I didn't actually mean to make such a drastic change...).
This product ( http://www.runtimedna.com/Spits-and-Flags.html ) indicates that it requires a different product (Berkutis) to work. I wonder if that is really true, or if that was just a way to indicate that this is an add-on product for the other?
Berkutis is almost certainly the dinosaur that you would use the spit drool prop on, so would be pretty important for that. I guess in theory with some scaling you could get the drool to fit other mouths, but on default load it is designed for Berkutis alone.
I took a gamble and got this one. There are three separate drool items (technically 4, but two are left and right versions of the same one). All are open on the top. The jaw one looks like it would be very easy to apply to the botom of anything. The tongue one has sort of an S curve so you would need to apply it to either something flexible or maybe a combination of two or three overlapping items or view it from just the one angle. The teeth ones will be harder, would require precise lining up of other objects to use EXCEPT if you view them from one angle with the open end to the back (viewing the row of drips from the narrow side), then they would probably work just about anywhere pretty well.
One of them loads into DAZ Studio with a chain of nodes from hip through tongue, but none of them actually needed Berkutis to load.
I know this topic is kind of dead. but I'm also looking for a similar Salvia/Drool effect to apply to a long tongue.
I'm doing a symbiote corruption piece, like venom from Spider-Man. So I've made the tongue shape but I need something to apply to it.
Any Suggestions for Daz Studio? Some of these product links in this thread don't work anymore.
And while Ron's Salvia pack is cool, it's a post-work photoshop tool and I'm not very proficent in the use of photoshop.
