Specifically I'm looking at : http://www.daz3d.com/bryce-7-pro-deep-space-hdri-1
Obviously the Bryce setting files wouldn't, but the .hdr files? If yes, how is the best way to figure out the various settings to use when you plug the .hdr into the render settings? (which is actually a more general question for any .hdr not part of a Daz set).

Most .hdr and .exr files will work in DAZ Studio, not all look good though and some need the settings changed to fit in the dome. Finite sphere without ground for some; ground and/or dome scale settings for others.
Scavenger - Yes, but! The HDRIs that come with the Deep Space HDRI sets are in the angular map projection and need to be transformed into the spherical projection so they can be used in Studio (and Carrara). HDRShop can do the transformation. If you have Bryce, you can load the HDRIs and export them as spherical HDRIs that can be used in Studio.
I've experimented with the (artificially made) HDRIs for TerraDome3 in Bryce. Generally, Bryce, Carrara, Studio (3Delight and Iray) can use any HDRI in the spherical projection as radiance RGBE file. The But is this: not all IBL (image based light) implementation work the same. In a nutshell, either the ambient light provided is nice but the key light is too weak. Or the key light is generous but there is not enough ambient light. As far as the backdrop is concerned, there is the problem of tone-mapping since an HDRI cannot be correctly displayed. In the case of the Deep Space HDRIs, no tone-mapping (or use of gamma) is required because a space scene is usually high contrast (black sky and bright objects).
