Daz Studio 4.5.1.6 Wont open saved scene with Victoria4.2 Mac Mountain Lion

Hi

I just installed 4.5 on my Mac running Mountain Lion and Victoria 4.2 with the various morphs using the default installation paths. When I try to save a scene file the only thing being saved is the *.duf file. So I am assuming that this is the complete scene.

If I reopen the scene I get the following error:

Some assets need to load the file are missing

Then it lists the following:

Siince the missing files were there anybody have any ideas, why it can not reload them after saving a scene?

I am running the Mac 64 bit version and I have about 800 gig free on my drive so its not a space issue.

    I have no idea why and others may have a better idea but since you just installed it may be down to not running the V4 Bat file. You are looking for DzCreateExPFiles-V4 which should be located "***************\Runtime\libraries\!DAZ\DzCreateExPFiles-V4.bat" Click or double click (depending how your mouse is set up) on the Bat to run. When that is complete see if the scene will load properly

    Hello,

    Trying to establish some relevant info to be able to find a solution. Please give me "right or wrong" on these statements.

    A. This is a new installation of DS 4.5, you did not have DS before installed?
    B. You have not been using V4 previously, which is important if the loader script has been executed or not.
    C: When you ran the V4 setup script "Update Victoria 4 Base", if you check the system console (/Applications/Tools/Console.app) for error messages, do you get any messages saying something about "Permission denied" or so.

    Otherwise, I might need to ask more to fins a solution. I can toss V4 onto my 10.8 machine and see but I need to know exactly how the situation looks so I get the same setup (and problems)

    Also on another note that is often overlooked you may want to make sure you have the directory that the morphs and V4 have been installed to added to your Content Library. I've had this happen to me on the PC and that is usually when I get those errors.

    So, it's a brand new installation.
    You say you can load V4. Do you get the "PowerLoader" dialog when you can "tick on/off" what V4 morphs you want to load?

    Yes I do get the power loader. Interesting note if I save the scene in to the content library, by clicking on the plus and saving the scene it saves and loads fine BUT if I save it from the menu as save save as scene it does not work.

    Was this ever resolved? I'm getting the same thing regularly in DS 4.5 (haven't upgraded to 4.6.1.33 yet). usually, if I clear the scene and try again, it works with no error messages...

    When this happens, are you loading anything that is a .daz file, or do you load ,c22/.pp2 and then apply DS materials?
    The only thing I could think of that is a known issue.

    This happens when I first open DS4.5 and I'm loading a scene (.DUF) file that was created in DS4.5... The second time I try it almost never gives me this error!

    Does that scene you load contain anything more that just a V4, and if so, are that props/figures in .daz format?

    It loads V4, clothing, and props. The props and figures are loaded from poser format, not daz, if that helps.

    Thanks. I tried this and it seemed to do something but I got the same result. I will play some more. One thing that's weird is while DS loading the scene, I see that it's not only reading assets but it's writing assets as well. I don't remember that from before (before I had this problem).

    The writing is part of the handing of older items that has to be encoded into the data folder as far as I know, I usually see that when using Gen 3 or 4 figures.

    Hopefully you get it solved.

    Would updating to the latest (stable) version of DS4.6 help or make any difference, one way or the other, with this issue?

    That is always recommended as DS is a moving target where lots of fixes and improvements happens all the time.

    Koda, hello,

    that has nothing to do with Mac or Win, this is a typical ds4 generation problem, that happens in ds4, ds4.5 and I guess also in ds4.6. It has something to do with the .duf formate of the scene. Have had the same problems.

    The problem is, that the .duf format is made for the genesis generation and not for the good old cr2 poser format v4.2 is.

    You can only use one character for v4.2 if you save this character as a scene.

    If you do a new scene with a new v4.2 and you inject a new character to this figure and you save this new character also as a scene the character in the other scene (saved scene) loose its deltas (but not the values). If you load the the first scene you get this error and the figure looks quite different after loading (some morphs are not there). What you have to do is to inject all morphs new manuelly that`s it, the values of the morphs are still there only the morphs get lost so after new injection of the morphs the figure look normal again.

    As written, have had the same problems and have written a lot of posts and questions but there is no solution for this problem so far I know. It is the .duf format that cause this error.

    mr. szark this is not new. I have had the same big problems and a lot of trouble and have written it here in the forums (last year) It is a very old problem of ds4 and its versions

    Maybe it is because I always give my character unique names but I have never had this happen.

    this happens also in ds4.5 it is a format problem of the scene files and since 4.0 it is .duf

    it depends on what character work you do. If you have a character and you only change values of morphs++ for example, that has no influence on other scenes but if you inject characters with costum morphs that also change or delete some morphs or deltas of morphs++ then you can get trouble with saved characters in other scenes.

    The problem is known to DAZ and the developers and work is AFAIK ongoing to fix this.

    As a workaround is that you rename your Victoria 4s so you have different names on each figure.

    Renaming the figure in the scene should be a solution, but it might be more to it than that.

    that doesn`t work the can name the figure in the scene like you will, the result is allways the same, new scene, new character, saved, lost morphs in older scenes

    Hi there,

    I know your problem, had the same here is how to fix your scene:

    the way to fix this problem if you get the “some deltas are missing” message for v4.2 or m4.2 in ds4 and up

    1. click okay - the figure appears and looks nicely said a bit different.
    2. inject all v4,2 morphs (morphs base, morphs++, elite and so) manually to your figure
    3. DO NOT zero the figure, DO NOT remember the figure, DO NOT restore the figur
    4. just leave the scene without saving even your figure looks not correct
    5. load the scene new

    the scene should now load without any error message and the appearing figure should now look normal. If this is the case:

    6. NOW save the scene

    From now on this figure/character should allways look the same again in every scene until you inject a new character

    This is basically what I have seen as well: the 2nd time it works fine. Is this some kind of bug with Daz's remembered file directories?
    Anyway, I haven't paid attention if I resave the scene but I will try that, thanks.
