  • I'm scratching my head at that to? as this was not an upgrade at time of purchase, it was of a full version we paid for. Then there should have been a new Key given to us.

I don't think DAZ are there at the moment due to the holiday !

You can send an email to sales(at)3dutils.com.  Let them know the userkeynamexxx you have (in your DAZ Account) and they'll send you a temporary log-in information.

Does your serial number start with userkeyname or username followed by some digits and then a space and more digits? If so, your name is the userkeynamexxx (where the xxx are digits) (or whatever the first field is up to the space) and the numbers (and dashes) after the space are the serial number.

There's another thread already doing the rounds somewhere about this. Most of us just have userkeynamxxx without the numbers and dashes that follow (although at least one person has just got the numbers and dashes without the other stuff). It's a bit of a pain that it's happened while most of Daz are out for an Ameriican holiday, but apparently they're on to it.

Ouch! Well, based on past events, that implies sales went better than expected and DAZ ran out of serial numbers. Should be fixable shortly after they get in tomorrow.

On a side note: has anyone tried this in Windows 8.1 or knows definitively that it will or won't work in 8.1?

    (I checked at 3dutils.com and the system requirements are still listed as ;

    • Requirements:
      • This product is for Windows platform only
      • System Requirements:
      • Windows XP/XP Pro, Vista, Windows 7
      • CPU: Pentium 4, 1.3 GHz
      • System Memory: 1 GB RAM
      • Disk Space: 90MB free hard drive space
      • OpenGL 1.0 compatible graphics card with at least 128 MB RAM and the latest drivers
      • Adobe Acrobat Reader (for help files)
      • Adobe Flash Player (for video tutorials)

    Not updated yet I guess.

Also does anyone know if Pegasus Modeler 2.0 is 32 bit?

    Cheers.

so the 4 upgrade should work if you own the 3 upgrade?

  • Merged two threads on the same topic.

Yep, got the user name, but no serial. Hopefully DAZ will get this fixed early tomorrow.

  • Pretty sad state of affairs. Nothing worse than that feeling when paying for something and you don't "really" receive it.

  • Yes I'm almost ready to ask for my money back no serial anywhere, will give it a few days then that's it Grrrrrrrrrrr!

    Patience ...

This is the normal behavior of the Daz store whenever a new software product with a serial number shows up ...

The first two or three days there is confusion.

    Then everything works just fine.

Yeah, after reading all of these reports, I think I'll wait until they issue new serial numbers before I buy it...

  • Remember that it was the weekend and Monday was an American holiday.

The right stuff is in my serial numbers now and works fine, so everyone else is probably sorted out now too.

  • All good at my end.

I once tried 3.0 in Win 8.1 but it behaved oddly in some respects, like the viewport going blank when doing certain things. Nothing of this seems to happen with 4.0 in Win 8.1, so I guess it works allright, though I haven't tried any modeling, just importing the V4 obj and moving it a bit around.

Not sure what the DS scale mode is for - V4 was just a tiny dot at the center of the screen and I couldn't find any way to get her up in normal size.

My serial number worked fine, it's actually the same as for 3.0, AFAIR it's the same for all versions.

I don't think any of them is 64 bit, 4.0 also installed in the x86 folder.

This program is bringing out the worst in me already. First it crashed inside of ten minutes (Windows 10, for the curious), then when I restarted it, it asked for my serial details again. Recognising that I was getting into a bad mood, I decided to walk away for half an hour, and restarted my machine while I was at it. Thirty minutes later, I restarted Pegasus and gave it the serial details, then shut it down and restarted it to see if it meant what it said about having stored the serial details. It didn't, and it hadn't, and is now asking for them again. I'll give it an hour to calm down this time... If it thinks the ten minutes use I've got out of it so far are sufficient to have me wanting to ferret out serial numbers every time I want to use it then it had better start thinking about how it's sorry butt is going to get kicked to the customer services department for a refund instead. Grumpy this morning? What, me?!

Daz is aware that there are issues for at least some users and is looking into the matter,.

  • BlueIreneBlueIrene Posts: 1,318

I've established that 'Snap to face' and 'Snap to vertex' are what is causing the program to crash for me. Other features may well have the same effect too. I wouldn't know as I have not had the chance to use them - trouble-shooting can be very time-consuming when you have to enter your serial details again after every single crash. I've lost count of the number of times I've entered mine now, but there's a limit to how long I'm prepared to faff about like this for.

Ha, what a dissapointment. Win10 here and same issue. I'm not spending another minute with it. I'll keep an eye here for any developments, but am not going to allow this thing to bring the worst out in me :D

If the refund que starts, I'll be joining.

I have persevered as much as I am going to and have sent in a refund request. Life's too short for this.

Thanks for that info Taozen, I should have asked 12 hours earlier then I did rather then trying to find out for myself. Now the two will cost me $36 not $27 if I go for them. Never mind.

Sometimes you have right click and choose Run as Administrator when you start a program. Then enter your serial number and it will be remembered then. It can't write to the registry if you don't, even if you account is an administrator.

    Was able to register.

On my DAZ Serialnumbers the serial and username show as:

    userkeynamXXXX | a111111-111111-111111-111111-111111-111111-111111-111111-111111

I tried various combinations until I found out:

    name is userkeynamXXXX

    Serial is 111111-111111-111111-111111-111111-111111-111111-111111-111111

the trick is IGNORE THE LITTLE a !!!!!

  • Okay, so, I've had success in registering.  I must have tried after DAZ fixed everything.  I'm in Windows 10 and I haven't had any problems with crashing.  I've watched the videos which I had to track down in the install directory as they don't seem to be linked in the pdf.  Not a huge deal.  I did have to track down a free .flv viewer.  I didn't have anything to installed that viewed these.  Got that and now I'm starting into the program now that I can move around and stuff.  I have a bit of a start on an outfit.  We'll see how long it takes to complete it.

I did notice that the bodysuit for Genesis 3 Male doesn't seem to match up with the exported figure which was in the standard T pose.  Does anyone know what pose the exported figure should be posed at while in DS before exporting because the sleeves don't quite match up with the default T pose.  I haven't tried the Genesis 3 Female figure and bodysuit yet.  For now it doesn't matter as I hacked them off to extrude new sleeves for the outfit I'm attempting to make.  It would be nice to be able to have them match up, though.

This is the reg key for my Pegasus 2.0

    x = letters
    # = numbers

    USER: userkeyname####
    KEY:  x#x#x#-#xx##x-xxxxxx-xx##xx-x##xxx-x##xxx-x#xxxx-xxxxx#

    GO TO:

    http://www.daz3d.com/downloader/customer/serialnumbers

    AND LOOK FOR:

Pegasus Modeler in the list of serial numbers.

    I hope this helps.
