A lot of the time if you try to go to the product page / cart the price changes to $NaN but yes it's totally normal when the pages first go up.

How long is this PA sale, 2 weeks?

    Usually at least a month

  • A month?! Holy cow, I'm definitely gonna go over budget. I bought a lot of stuff already that wasn't even on my radar.

It'll run right into the PC+ sale next month too (or did last year.)

which pretty much ran into Black Friday / Cyber Monday into the xmas sale...

Last year this time of year was pretty much endless promotions.

My wallet has fallen asleep. lol I don't know what the deal is but pretty much nothing as sparked my interest yet except the $7 Aiko ...which I then missed out on. lol I've not bought anything since the start of the PA sale but I AM hopeful that they'll eventually roll out something that is on my wish list that I really want. Everything so far, to me, has been pretty 'meh'. I'm really glad to see that others are scoring some stuff that they really want though. :)

Figures, I was camping way out in the woods with no Internet and a $7 Aiko passed me by. When I left I thought to myself, "Nothing really good so far, so what  are the odds?" So far, nothing on the PA sale has struck my interest either. Discounts not deep enough, or products not exciting enough, or both.

That would have been the one I jumped on, though. I'd like Michael 7, too - that would help round out my character library.

I haven't bought anything either but I think the sale so far is fine. The prices are good for new releases and there are occasional gems like Aiko appearing on such a steep sale so soon. From memory the PA sale wasn't massively exciting until later in the month last year either - the PC+ sale was the one with the insane bundles.

There have been a few items I thought looked really nice but honestly I'm not really in that much of a buying mindset anymore. As I get more into making my own things in ways that Studio doesn't let me (or if it does do even the most basic modelling things the features are impossibly hidden away) I'm much more interested in saving for other software packages and addons rather than buying end products, so I'm probably not the best meter for spending amounts lately.

That gives me hope. And I guess if I find nothing worth while in the PA sale I can always look forward to the PC+ sale (and I'm REALLY looking forward to that!!). :)

I'm pretty jealous of your ability to make your own stuff! That would be sweet! :D I'm sure it took ages to learn all that though. :)

The PC+ bundles last year were really awesome.

If you want to learn, you can learn. The basics of modelling aren't that complicated. Dots (vertices) join together to make lines (edges) which join together to make (squares) faces. The rest is just making it look pretty. Even a crappy mesh can seem perfectly fine in a render with subdividing and textures, and you know how to make textures already. I've been using Blender for almost a year and while I'd still say I'm a beginner you can learn to make serviceable clothing and things for oneshot renders pretty fast.

The tricky part to me is the part where you try to make it all work as fitted clothing etc. in Studio. To me it's easier to just make new clothing for every render than it is to try and build stuff that works in every situation. That's where PA clothing is really useful because I seriously do not have the patience to do the ton of work they do making conforming clothing work for multiple figures and poses.

Christmas was pretty awesome last year too :)

But yeah, Aiko will probably be on sale again if we do have a catch-up sale... and if Aiko appeared on the Fast Grab, perhaps other figures released this year will be featured as well?

"The PC+ bundles last year were really awesome."

I hope it's the same this year! I'm really excited about the PC+ sale since I'm pretty new and don't have much. So getting some of that content on the cheap sounds pretty great to me! :)

I'm doing well this sale - only bought one thing LOL! the megagrab stuff isn't interesting me at all, luckily. Saving money, yay! :D

  • KeryaKerya Posts: 10,943

I was doing well, but fortunately (or unfortunately for my wallet) I was online for the Aiko7 deal ...

Aiko 7, The Protohive and Dragon Island were on my wishlist, at the same day in Megafastgrab and with the extra 10% off ...

I added a new item too: Z Subtle Emotion - Morph Dial Expressions for the Genesis 3 Female(s), because with the sale it came to about 2 Dollars more than the three items without those Expressions. I looked at the promos and they seem to be good starting points - not toooo sexy or exaggerated.

And V3Digitimes showed up in the sale, so there goes my budget for the month. LOL.

With so many artist's catalogs on sale at once, it'd be really useful to me to have a 'get them all' button to see all of these products together. No doubt I overlook great stuff because I simply haven't time to go back and browse each PA catalog individually.

I use "Wishlistify" it lists all the items on the page that are on my wish list. Makes it easier with big sales like this to find the things I've already noted as ones I want.

Sadly, I'm not that organised. Plus, the wish list can only flag up must-have items that have already come to my attention. I use these sales to pick up things I may have overlooked previously. RawArt's cool Iray atmospheric camera is a perfect case in point. How did I miss that first time around?

  • No new Daz-Character today. Curious if they just change the schedule or if they skip this Month.

But what a great offering in the PA-Sale  today. I could buy almost anything today (and what not I woukld get anyway as part of the Bundle.....)

They don't have to have changed the schedule or skipped for it to not be today. Next Tues works fine to still fit in a dual release this month, if there is one.

Seems to me they skipped doing a new figure during the PA and PC sales last year. And then they released Michael 7 almost immediately after the PC sale had come to an end. (But don't trust my memory... It has more holes than my grandmother's sieve.)

Nope - Josie appeared in September marketed as "Josie is now part of the PA sale!" and then Arabella was part of the PC+ sale in October.

I don't want to sound like a sales person, but Aiko's body is a great shape to add in even if you don't do toony renders. She's idealized, but in the right amounts, can give a nice shape that looks different enough from the V7 and other model like morphs to be very useful, IMHO. Also, her head shape, in small doses doesn't necessarily mean toon either, but it's much easier to overpower a character morph with that than with the body.

Yeh small amounts, and its easy to dial down the eyes seperately too.
