Continuous promotions of the same artists content

Over the past several months I have been carefully watching the shop offers. The one thing that stands out... constant promotion of the same artists. There are many artists content that is rarely promoted or included. Too much of a good thing (constantly featured artists) can reach a saturation level.

Daz3d shop focuses too much on one or two sales promotions per day.  Why is that, when they have thousands of items in their catalog?

The Genesis 7 is cool, but is a never ending story.

I don't understand such redundant promotions.I won't provide examples, because all you have to do is access the shop for a week or so daily and you'll get the picture. Daz3d promotes free content, but the choices haven't changed in weeks. The fast grab is good idea, but the same content is up for days. There is room for plenty of graphic promotion blocks in the slideshow, and the same promotions are featured for too long.

The runtime DNA content items are and have been promoted constantly for weeks. I have seen the same runtime DNA listings for weeks... I bought a few at reduced prices, and now the prices are raised for the same old stuff. I don't even look at the Runtime DNA items as they are the same old same old.

I like the flash sales, and longer listings of individual artists on sale.  There are plenty of not so popular artists who have some interesting items... One comes to mind "http://www.daz3d.com/phantasmagorical-scenes", interesting non-conventional content items.

This is an amazing scene content pack. The creative juices were really flowing in this artist to create this pack.

Why should I care, you may ask?  Guess I shouldn't, so the Daz3d sales promotion gurus can just ignore my input. Every now and then they will do something different, which are the days I am interested

Umm, Star 2.0 and Terradome 3 are completely new and different products from RDNA artists....

I probably should have left off the bit about runtime DNA, because I am glad a relationship exists between the two companies.

  • I love that steam punk scene and I must admit I have never seen it before. I do think less well know PA's could be featured more and I do believe the PA Sale is coming up which is a great time for any PA to do that. It is as much the PA taking into the hand oppurtunities we are given as Daz taking the time to promote us .

I've watched the sales too in a long time, as I made translations for them to German language.

The same artists get promoted who do actively contribute content to a sale. So, many of the artist who just give one or less items per year into selling here will get less promoted. Outside of PA Sale, and the various shopwide sales, of course.

In addition, there are several sales a few months apart promoting so called top-sellers, either vendors or certain products (which usually are also by the top-selling vendors, by the nature of being top-selling).

Just some food for your thought process.

  • The RuntimeDNA products will never change or have new content added,as it is now merged into Daz3D so all new items from merchants who once sold at DNA are now just new releases at Daz3D.. :)

New product is featured in the ads and sales; that's what brings people to the site every day.  If the artist who created that new product has other products, then their catalog is usually promoted at the same time, as is only fair given that it's their product drawing people in.  That automatically means that the more prolific artists get more of the sales.  Which is only good, because the catalog sales and Daily Flash Sales mainly benefit artists with large catalogs... after all, if you only have one or two items in the store, you may not want them running at 60% off constantly.  Beyond that, DAZ owns anything labeled DAZ Original 100%, so they can do whatever they want with it as part of a promotion, and a lot of the RDNA products are now DAZ Originals, so expect them to show up in a lot of ads from now on.  And even without that, the collective RDNA group is still going to be the largest single entity selling at DAZ other than DAZ itself going forward. They have a LOT of product and a lot of it is still in the process of being released via DAZ for the first time... we just got a huge new batch yesterday to coincide with the TD3 launch.  To cover smaller artist catalogs like the one you've referred to , there is the PA sale, which just started and covers every artist who wants to be included, the fast grabs and, if you're in prime, the monthly PA coupon.  Overall, I think the system is pretty fair and while I do get tired of seeing items that I've already bought being advertised yet again, there are a lot of customers who probably don't have them yet and are just waiting for a sale.  Finally, it should be noted that there are some vendors here with fairly small catalogs who still manage to make their work known via the Commercial Product forum and other self-initiated promotions.

Thank you for that information.  RDNA will come from the current RDNA catalog and new items will be Daz3d.

I like that many of the RDNA products I bought became DAZ Originals. There are more of them I intend to buy too, mainly the Plushies.

New items will only be DAZ3D if DAZ3D buys them. Otherwise, they will be under the PA.

  • Yep that's it..For Any new items from merchants who were at DNA,then those new products will be just that sellers name ..It just makes it easier listing all the previous content under RuntimeDNA so people who hadn't shopped there would know it was migrated over to it's new home ..  :D

  • Artists that don't make much content, or haven't made anything new in years (that's been marketed here, that is), likely won't be featured as often as someone that is regularly adding new content to the store. I'm sure that when your example first came out, it was featured in a lot of promotions for quite a while.

Nice catch. Grabbed both of the items, as soon as they were on sale.

Have to convert them to iray, though. Lots of fine details. Below is 3Delight render from Daz Studio.
