Could we see a render of her? I'd love to see if she's worth buying despite not buying Julie.
Brita normal left, Brita no Julie right.
Obviously you could mix in Josie or whoever else.
That's what I love, too! P3D (and Godin!) imo make the nicest and most realistic eyes; most of their materials are just adorable.
@kyoto kid: Sorry for not replying earlier, but daywalker03 answered your question already. I just applied the Brita morphs and materials (3Delight) to G3M.
@divamakeup: Here are two renders of Brita G3F
Oh nice! Thank you. :) She's cute! Is it just me or are her eyes slightly skewed though in the "no Julie" version? (It might just be the lighting.)
Hmm not sure. It could be because they're on slightly different angles - I couldn't be bothered doing two renders so I just duped and put them side by side. I'm not a huge fan of just G3F Brita's shape, but I like the actual character and the texture a lot.
Agree texture looks great; didn't like the promos (sorry P3Design); probably in part because the eyes looked rediculously large - normal for teen characters, and now seemingly the tween too. Well I've put in wish list, to consider again.
Just another quick test with the TJ morphs dialed back for an older teen.
If you want to use her at "normal size" yes, but you can apply the morph to G3F and use it without her if you want to.
So, what do you suppose wuld happen if you applied her to G3F + growing up.
...not sure as I do not have the character morph. If someone has both Brita and Growing Up it would be nice to see an example or two.
So what you are asking for is Brita dialed to 100, tween dialed to 0% and age presets on that?
Here is 10 year old and young teen. They have the old inverted boob issue, not as noticible in render as in veiwport, but still there. Probably depends a lot on the smoothing in the clothes you use too.
I figured you would know that issue well lol. Not many of us rendering the younger girls out there :)
Yeah it would have been nice if more characters had been developed off her base, or even an updated Hayley who I also find is easier to morph into a more believable early/pre-teen when it comes to accurate body porportions.
I was always mystified at the low level of support for YT Julie, especially given how popular Laura had been for the V3 generation. It didn't help that the product launch for the Young Teens was marred with the "peg teeth" issue, or that one of the first dedicated products (Deborah) was inexplicably nippleless, but I think it was also the fact that there were never any younger kid sets introduced and all the "youth" stuff for Gen 4 was designed for really little kids, while HIro and AIko's stuff had all gotten a lot more sexualized. Really, outside of the standlaone Satsuki, Julie and Justin kind of existed in a weird vacuum until Josie came along two years later.
Greetings,
Satsuki was a really good character, too, one of my memorable favorites from that generation. Especially good for mixing in.
The thing about the 'breast inversion' is that it's easy to get rid of from the clothes. Send it to Hexagon, pull up the UV & Paint section on 'Soften', and clean up the breast area, and send it back as a character-specific morph, reversing deformations. I've made unrecognizable t-shirts look like their promo pictures again using this, as well as the breast-ridges that sometimes happen when putting clothes that have decent bridging on adults onto younger characters. There's also a common problem where the waistline gets 'wavy' because some polys of the underlying model got pulled up, and the Soften brush helps with that also.
It also works for most forms of under-breast distortion and (slightly less well) on shrink-wrap that happens from autofitting jeans of various types.
What I've never (before writing this post) wondered about, but would be fascinating, would be to instead use the 'Soften' brush on the character, and then save that as a morph that might fix all the clothing I'd fit to them, instead of fixing each piece of clothing as I went. The underyling character's skin would probably not look particularly good because the textures are meant for the character the way it comes, but that's okay as it might make the clothes look normal and most of my characters are rendered with clothes on.

...another issue was Julie 5 and Justin 5 were pretty much the last of the Genesis "classic" characters released (12/20/12), G2F was already in development (public release about 6 months later). Belle and Brodie was probably the best G2 teens but again, like the YT 5s they were a late release in the G2 line (11/20/14).
Also have Satsuki as well.
No, they hit right at the middle of the Genesis release cycle... The Genesis order was: V5, M5, S5, H5, YTJ&J, F5, A5, D5 and then the first three DAZ Monsters, if you want to count them. So by that logic Aiko 5 shouldn't have been sucessful, but from what I've heard she was the second best selling of the bunch.
Just wanted to add a picture of her. I like her, then again in my stories there are kids, so i don't mind teens and younger. Just wish there was more decent clothes for them. I don't really care for revealing sexual clothing. So here's a pic of a future Olympic gymnastic star. I had to use Z's fit control to get rid of a ridge between her breast on the shirt. This was done in Realilty 4.3 (not the newer 4.3.1, haven't updated it yet). No post work except to crop the image.
Is that Tween Julie, or one of the morphs?
...how long did this take? I abandoned R4 a while back because of a lot of instability and bugs.
I was on the fence about this character, but seeing the work many of you have put into her, I see that she can make a credible young teen, or preteen character and that even though her initial base figure is rather stylized she is perhaps one of the most realistic young characters in the Daz stable right now. She just went into my cart, and i'm installing her now.
Nelsonsmith: That is Julie with some added morphs--- a mixture of Hannah, Kalea, Karen, Lexi, Rune, Sasha, Sophia, Victoria bodies, all muscle volumes, Tween Julie at 100%, and Julie's materials in SSS (not iray) format.
Kyoto Kid: It ran for around maybe an hour maybe 90mins max. I don't have a real powerful laptop either. I like r4 alot. Have had some issues with it but nothing major. the updates to reality have been pretty good. but i do better with people with it than I do iray, but metals i do better with iray than r4.
It looks like Little Ones look great dialed into G3F too, for realistic younger characters: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/1475511/#Comment_1475511 (particularly the last one in that image, G3F with Little Ones dialed in at 25%).
...ahh sounds like you have a CPU that can take advantage of the speed boost, I don't.
I really wish Lux didn't abandon their GPU development . AMD GPUs cost a lot less than comparable Nvidia ones. I could have bought a 16 GB Firepro a couple years ago which costs less than the forthcoming Nvidia Quadro P5000.
..apologies fr the slight derail. Carry on.
Abandoned GPU development? I'm running R4 using GPU. No problems but memory anxiety.
...not what I heard about a year ago which was why I pulled the dual HD 7950s from my system as they were really power hungry and generated way too much heat.
Here she is again wearing G2F clothing this time and posed different to show different angles and expressions. Again, skin is in 3dL format. This ran 5 1/2hrs in reality 4.3.1, only because I forgot about it. Did some things around the house and then remembered i was rendering.
I do have a Nvidia GeForce GTX in my laptop.
Last one. Decide to put Rune in this. Again, all skin is the 3DL format. rune's clothes are iray format. Done in Reality 4.3.1 at 2hrs 53min (only because i was busy installing windows and did not keep an eye on the render) with no post work except to crop it.
