The pro pack has the "anatomical" parts, so if you ever intend to render someone who's male or female in the state of undressed, you probably want that. Male probably more than female, as it's as the female only is noticable in certain positions, and the anatomical female element mostly adds 3D to the image of that part.

Other than that, it all depends on how many of the items that are part of the pro bundle you think are worthwhile buying. Do the maths, and if the Pro pack is cheaper than all of the items in the pack that interest you, just buy the pro pack.

I really don't understand what you're asking for here. Each bundle lists what is in them as well as the price. If you think the price is worth what is in it and if you want what is in it, get it. If you're just "meh" on the stuff in the bundle then don't get it.

I HIGHLY recommend not buying any bundles (or really anything here) at full price though unless you have plenty of extra money. The bundles go on sale fairly frequently from what I've seen and you can save a TON of money by waiting for the products to go on sale. However if you have the money and really want the item now, then go for it. :)

Whether I buy any bundles is completely dependent on the likihood of me ever using any of the clothes, poses, hair,  morphs included in that bundle or not.  Since a lot of the time the pro bundles go heavily on fantasy armor and the like, there are few pro bundles I buy unless they are heavily discounted.

The one thing I wish all pro bundles had that would get me to buy are the HD head morphs.

I agree. It kind of burns my bum that HD is seperate from the figures. They expect people to pay 100 bucks for a pro bundle and then shell out 20 more for the HD - ick.

It depends upon how much you need or want of the products contained in the bundle.  Beginning with Genesis 2/Generation 6, I stopped buy every pro bundle that came along.  I buy one male and one female pro bundle at a really cheap price (I've yet to pay more than $35 for a Pro Bundle) so I have the gens if I need them.  After that, I buy only what I need or want and only if it on sale at a really good price.

Chris, why are you at odds, what are your needs. I don't own any pro bundles simply because they usually include things I can't use or don't need. Also keep in mind that the "anatomical" parts are usually pretty simplistic and you can get better, more detailed ones at other stores

Michael 7 is about 10 months old, (that's old in Dazzyland,) and may well show up in some really great promos. With the PA Festival just around the corner, (PA sale starting soon,) he should be at least 50% off sometime in September, if you can hold out. Aiko 7 will also be out of New Release status by then...

I agree with the others that you should make the decision to buy, or not to buy, the Pro bundle of any character based on what is in the bundle and how much usage you expect to get out of the included products. One big exception to this is when a Pro bundle is being featured at such a big discount you can save money buying the bundle over buying the figure, (or the figure and one other product, like hair.)

Keep in mind, too, that you only need one Pro bundle of one male figure to get the male anatomical elements. The mesh is the same for all males in any given generation. Same for the female anatomical elements, (buy one female figure Pro bundle...) There may be exceptions to that if the figure is a teen or tween.

Something else to consider, if you're on a tight budget: With Genesis 3, characters that state they require a figure like Michael 7 or Aiko 7 may only need those figures for the shape morph. Check the listing for "This product uses the Genesis 3 Base ... UV Maps," (male or female, depending on the character.) If it uses the base UVs, you can still get a good looking character, even without the base figure. Then pick up the base figure when it goes on sale. As a PC member, I've seen some Daz Original characters as low as $8.80 as a new release...

  • reason i ask i saw so many awesome stuff that mostly feacher michael 7 and aiko 7 so much on here now im like wow  they do look awesome

Since I only buy things that are on sale, I have not spent more than $44 on a pro bundle.

I almost always want the base character. So, if I desire at least two other items from the pro bundle, it is cheaper to get the pro bundle. There have been cases where I have misjudged my needs and ended up spending more for less. (For example, I bought Karen 7 base and Force Hair, thinking that I wanted nothing else from the bundle. However, later I wanted Eclipse Outfit [thanks to Shimuzu's Skye Poses promos] and I ended up spending more for 3 items than I would have for 11.)

If you do not have much G3M gear, then I suggest you get all the male Pro Bundles (when they're on sale) just to give you expressions, poses, and basic wardrobe.

I did not know that! I've been wondering how to get the male anatomical elements - it looks like I definitely need to get a male pro bundle.

I've always thought it "un-natural" to make characters without their genitals. I've always insisted on getting Pro bundles so the characters would be "complete." But I haven't used nudes in my art for over a decade, and I never use their genitals.

It's the same gens figure in every set, so you only have to buy one pro bundle for each sex of each generation of figures and you're covered.  The appropriate textures and maps come with the base figures.   Where they've really messed things up with this generation, however, is that the G3F gens can't use a torso's base texture as the gens did with past figures, so if you relied onnly on DAZ product, you could only use the gens when a PA has specifically makes a gen map set for them.  And there are quite a few who don't.  That's pretty clearly an arbitrary decision DAZ made, as  the gens sold at Renderotica DO work with all the adult G3F textures, while Cayman Studio's legacy UV sets for G3F and G3M (sold both here and at Renderosity) will also let you use the older skins on the G3 gens.  CS also has a freebie that let's you do the torso trick with most G3F based skins, though I've found a number of skins that it just won't work with for some unknown reason.

Back to the main subject - I used to always buy the Pro bundles as the outfits and hair items that I liked used to mainly show up in those.  These days, though, it seems like a lot of the Pro bundles are grabbing a bunch of random items, so I'm buying a lot more of the starter sets.  Bascially I divide the price of the bundle by the number of items that I actually want and whichever is the better price per item is what I go with. What I won't buy, however, is just a base figure, as the price is pretty outrageous for a glorified morph set and a UV skin/set that will almost certainly end up being unique to that figure and never used again by any PA.  If the base figures came out with a base price of $15-20 or so, I might buy them, but a $45 base price for a product that doesn't even come with poses anymore is crazy.

Depends on how many of the items in the bundle you truly need.

I bought one figure from the last Pro bundle, had a great texture; I have no intention of buying the main figure; I consider them expensive for what they are, so only occasionally get one. I think the only one I've bought this year is Aiko 7.

Buy what you need. If you're buying and not looking at it, then you're buying too much. :) Been there stop doing that.

I used to buy pro all the time but now more than ever the clothing including is consumer grade, secondary figures are using similar merchant resources and poses are minimal. I will buy the hair usually if not too odd but generally all I want is the base. Since I don't render fairies or fantasy a lot of figures have really a lot of medieval or fantasy content. Those clothing items are wasted on me.
