Request: Even More Face Touching, On Knees & Hands Randomly in Air Poses
Can we please have MORE women's poses with them "touching their own face touching" as if on Ecstacy, having their "hands in the air randomly", and "down on the ground, on their knees or butt up in the air"?? Obviously, I'm kidding. These poses are ridiculously (insultingly?) over represented in the poses for Women. I suck at creating poses -- which is why I buy them. But the fact that I buy them (and a LOT of them), is perhaps good reason to totally ignore any request to make thousands more of these poses.
The most awesome poses I've seen are the "dynamic" poses (whose bodies have the power and dynamism of ice skaters or vollyball players) and "sword fighting" and "flying" (superhero) kind of poses, where its clear that the Woman is on a mission! But also of a woman hammering a nail, hanging up picture, getting cups out of a tall cupboard, doing laundry, scolding her children, holding babies, playing video games, engaging in surgery, arguing a courtcase, placing something on a shelf, drawing/writing at a desk, talking with others, drinking alcohol and looking pretty drunk, playing a guitar, writing in a journal while standing, eating a bowl of cereal while holding the bowl up in the air, giving "cheers" to someone at a wedding while sitting or standing, building small crafts, picking something off the ground... while not looking like a sex position, holding every size of object with a different balance/position for every shape and weight, putting on a jacket, putting on shoes, brushing teeth, combing hair, arguing, shaking hands, etc.
But not just one of those poses, but LOTS and LOTS for each scenario. And why not? There are about 50 poses of "Hands up in the hair randomly" and about 1000 poses of "On her knees" and probably an infinity of poses "Touching her own face as if on Ecstacy." I think part of the problem is that there is nothing for someone to do without another object in the scene. So you just end up with unlimited number of poses where the woman is touching herself, or standing up, or on her knees or hands in the air for no reason whatsoever.
My advice to all pose creators would be to never create a pose without multiple objects in the scene, where a woman is actually doing something. The objects don't need to be included with the pose set, obviously. Our imaginations can fill in the blanks with similar scenarios and our own scenes. But if you look at the way, for example, ice skaters move, there is something beautiful in the way that they move, rather than simply mechanical. The goal of pose creation, I believe, should be to find a beautiful dynamic for an ordinary situaiton. While anyone can make a figure look stiff, doing something; the valuable pose creator makes them look dynamic and alive while doing something as simple as eating cereal.
I would say 70% of the women's poses don't represent women doing anything in particular at all. Pinup is obviously part of this market. But women actually do stuff; and regular stuff, to boot! Not just sword fights, ballerina dancing or face/hair touching while on their knees! And they deserve MORE than one pose per each scenario (and certainly if hair-touching gets 1,000 poses).
Sorry if this is a bit cheeky.
But its just a thought.

It all comes down to what sells.
Greetings,
I've been noticing it also, although for a very different reason. A large amount of clothes come with smoothing turned on, these days. If you have a pose where the character is touching herself (like, on the leg, side, other arm, etc., all of which, by the way, are evidently staples of pinup in general, for various reasons, along with cheek and lips), then the clothes collide and smooth, and end up 'glomming' onto the touching hand.
I do buy sexy poses. I make no particular bones about this; I even converted some from V4 back before folks got serious about making Genesis/G2F poses. But I've got to admit, I wouldn't mind a few that worked with clothes ON, especially clothes that have a tendency to 'glom'. (Glom: a 'technical term' for the somewhat troubling way DAZ's 3D clothes surround and climb up fingers and hands that are dipped into them.)
I also try to buy 'doing stuff' poses, and (most interestingly) a lot of those end up being PC+ pose sets. That, or I13 scene/prop/pose sets. (Although even those skew smexy, but they can usually be repaired somewhat by using the youth pose morph, even on adults, to fix the character's swayback.)
But yes, fundamentally, leg slightly bent, hands touching lips or legs, back arched in painful ways, body twisted so you can have a camera angle that shows both breasts and backside, etc., are 'classic' images (especially in comics) but somewhat overdone in pose-sets.
I do like the character-interaction poses. Those are freaking HARD. I've only done a few scenes with characters interacting where I had to do most of the posing, and it's always really, really difficult. (Props to you, @Mattymanx for your multi-character sets!) I wish there were a way to pin a hand to be a relative difference from another character's arm, or something like that, so I could move the character around a little bit and keep the relative pose in place.

But what if you want to throw your hands up in the air and wave them like you just don't care?
@CypherFOX You mentioned "youth pose morph;" could you please tell me about this?
It's part of Zev0's Growing Up for G3M and G3F.
Here are aome examples of non-sexy psoes from ironman13: http://www.daz3d.com/i13-conversations-pose-collection-for-the-genesis-3-male-s-and-genesis-3-female-s

I could probably find more if I really looked, but those two came to mind, as I have the first one and am seriously considering the second.
