I bought the Facehop 8 upgrade in the March Madness sale today.

I watched the video, but I had problems after following the recommendation to dial the base character shape back to 50% after applying the Faceshop morph ( which defaults to 70% ). Doing it this way distorts the figures joints. This is particularly noticable with the Basic Child.

I found a better way, by the following process

1/ Load the Genesis character, eg Basic Child. Do not change the pose from the default T at this stage.

2/ Set the Mesh Resolution of Genesis to 'Base' and subdivision to zero.

3/ Export the Genesis figure as a .obj file.

4/ Run up Faceshop and apply the resulting morph ( it defaults to 70% )

5/ Load the .obj file of the base figure ( saved at step 3 above ) using Morph Loader

6/ Apply the just loaded morph at a negative value equal to the amount of Faceshop morph applied. So if Faceshop morph is 70% then apply this morph at -70%

7/ If desired increase the Genesis mesh resolution to High resolution, subdivison 1.

Following the above the figure will bend properly, whilst keeping the faceshop morph.

The amount of Faceshop morph can be increased or decreased, so long as the counter morph is set to to the negative of the same value.

    Cheers
    Ian

Contact Laslo and let him know what the problem is. You can send him an email from the Abalone website and he posted a contact number in a previous post.

I've never used the product, but it's on sale at the moment, so I'm thinking about it.

To be clear, the product scans a head photograph and creates morphs that can be used with Genesis to re-create the subject (so I can take a front, left side, right side, back photo of someone and FaceShop can add a morph dial in Studio 4.5 that I can use with Genesis?)

I'm a little wary of not being able to try out the product before buying--I always like to take products for a test spin before purchasing. To be honest, that alone may keep me from purchasing it.

:-)Thank you! Jay Nola I contacted Laslo and he was very helpful I have Face shop up and running and I have done 2 morphs I still have to fiddle a little with the dials to make it look exactly like I want But that just makes it fun and it's Mine, it's one of the handiest tools I have.

This is the current version for Windows:

    For os X:

This is their web site. Send them a email by clinking the link at the top center. You probably want to ask them when Headshop will support Genesis 3 characters. It does not support Genesis 3 characters yet.
