http://www.daz3d.com/olivia-hair-for-star is not showing the regular discount for me. Still listed $9.99 not $5.99 so no new discount. Anyone else?

The rest of the items for star are discounted and the 30% + 30% discount is active too, but Olivia Hair is listed at $3.67 instead of the $2.20.

I wanna grab a 2nd cart full of Star goodness!

  • Odd question, I know, but might there be a male equivalent to Star!?

I don't know what happened when I installed Star, but DIM says that both versions of Star were installed, but I could only find the .cr2 poser version so tried using that one since a lot of .cr2 stuff works in DS.  Guess Star isn't one of them.  No matter where I looked she was nowhere to be found.  So, I uninstalled her and this time just installed the DS version and she showed up in Smart Content right away and I can find her in the Content Library now.  She is also posing much better using the DS version.  I'm setting up a scene with her now and should be rendering it out shortly.

I don't think it's an odd question, I was wondering the same thing. Someone mentioned a character called Steel in this thread : http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/74049/so-where-is-steel

The only serious reply was a link to a free male morph for Star.

Yes, only she wasn't there even though DIM said she should be.  I could only find the PS installed files and not the DS installed files.  Anyway, uninstalling and reinstalling fixed the problem.

And, I have my first full render of Star! now.  I'm not great at 3Delight as I much prefer Iray, but I don't think she turned out that bad.  I am getting a little better at 3Delight.

yeah, but the odd thing is, the "what's included and features" states Adventurer Set For Star: (.DUF and .CR2) so you'd expect it work in DS as it's .duf files.

Just purchased Adventure Set  For Star!

    http://www.daz3d.com/adventurer-set-for-star

    Installed via DIM

    With Star selected and no pose appplied I get;

#1 When loading the Pith Helmet I get lots of vertex error messages (the helmet does apply itself ok to the body ok)

#2  When loading the Star Backpack I get lots of vertex error messages (the  shorts does apply itself to the body ok)

#3  When loading the Star Backpack I get lots of vertex error messages (the  backpack does apply itself to the body ok)

#4 When applying colour Taupe to the pith helmet the colour of the cloth band (scarf) does doesn't change (it does for the other choices)

I am using DAZ Studia 4.9.0.63 Pro (64 bit) on a windows machine

    Compatible Software: Poser

    ...

Can anyone who got the Adventure Set for Star! check in the .zip to see if there are DUF files? If they're there then the package was changed (and might explain why it, among others, don't show up as purchased). I checked the original .zip and there are only Poser files.

It's probably just an error on the product page, but it's important to know.

To check the install location find the item in the Installed tab of DIM, click the triangle button on the right-hand end of its row, and from the menu seelct Show Installed Files.

I don't see any .duf files listed in the File List on the readme page, and there is no mention of duf files on the product page. In any event, if the item isn't showing in your library I would wait until tomorrow and if it hasn't appeared by then open a support ticket - unless you know your accounts at Daz and RDNA use diffrent emails in which case I'd open a ticket now.

Richard: I haven't checked my Prod Library yet. They're not showing up in DIM. Star! herself and yesterday's stuff (haven't checked each filename but it looks aok so far) are in DIM but today's stuff not yet.

    I'll keep watching.

@Wilmap  That is a very cute dress!  Think I'll have to go mosey on over to Wilmap's place and check out what I haven't downloaded yet because I don't remember seeing that dress before.

I gave in and got her. Thanks to whoever pointed out those clones (and whoever made them) absolute lifesavers.

(Click the image to go to the bigger version in my gallery)

Once again showing off how Iray is only useful for realism /s

But really I had fun with all the materials. Although I will say it is kind of a pain to go through and select all the skin materials to set up the materials

  • Alright, here's my go at it:  Star! as Miraculous Ladybug.

Ah, the product page description has been changed. It did state .duf & cr2 files when it was released and when I looked at it last night. Obviously an error and it's been corrected. It seems to be a Poser only product now.

@Spit, put in a ticket for a refund if you wish.

I've used that Manga Bodysuit on her too, and it autofits (with those clones) brilliantly :)

I see you guys were talking about the Adverturer set.

Even if its Poser only, I load star stuff from both the poser libraries and Daz libries in DS. (Gotta have them IDG poses!)

Does that work? I thought that with the Daz and Poser versions of Star using different methods of rigging, weight mapping and other arcane trickery, conforming clothes had to be made to conform to one version or the other.

  • jakibluejakiblue Posts: 7,281

Generally, poses will work in either, even if made for the Poser version of Star only. I've used quite a few of IGD's poses for Star and they are only in the poser format and not had a problem.

Clothing, not so much. Some things will load and give you all those errors, but kinda still work. But most clothes made for Poser Star, no. :D

Just tried it with the Poser version of Creme Brulee's dress and while it gave the "Wrong figure, what do you want to do?" Dialog, it still conformed perfectly from what I can see.
Not sure if it will work for everything though.
