There hasn't been a render for a little bit so.....

    Star! is "Artifact Seeker"

  • DkgooseDkgoose Posts: 1,451

I decided to buy her too, she's cute.  I also noticed some of the other products for Star are on sale again so I think I'm gonna pick up a few.  Has anyone been able to get the Star V4 UV to work? I tried but get wierd results.  Anyway here is my first render with Star.

Hope you don't mind if I use it elsewhere.:)

I like the star renders, but haven't bought as not my scene.

Oh man, I can't dowload the http://forum.runtimedna.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=896 body templates posted by @Littlefox as to download it you need to be registered (which I unfortunately never got round to!) and if you try to register links you straight through to Daz3d nowadays.

Thank you @willowmoon3d for the comment and for the outfit, a Daz3d specific update to it would be nice (from a finding it in my library a little easier perspective) but it seemed to work pretty well in Daz as is too!

In case someone wonders : the POP STAR expansions are new colors to add on all the STAR hairs and works both Poser and DAZ [duf files included] .. http://www.daz3d.com/pop-star-hair-expansion

It's on the list of my "needs to be done" @ka1 :) Happy to see she's off on a Daz3D adventure already even though she's was made just for Poser initially. Have fun with her!

From the beginning Star! contains versions for BOTH Poser and Studio in the same package. That's why I've been confused about so many Studio users who wanted her who didn't have her yet.

She's nice, just think her legs are to long and thin. Any morphs out there to "normalize" them a bit?

There's a set of OOT morphs at rendo. There's another set of morphs too that has some leg morphs, but I forget where I got those. I think they were at RDNA called Nether Morphs for Star!. Maybe they'll show up at DAZ eventually?

Well I realized I actually have the Nether Morphs myself and they do have some body morph presets. Here's the one called "Anime Short" which has some more normal leg proportions:

I love the Ilmare character. I really wish Spiritfoxy could send DAZ a cr2 with the pmd loaded or callable.

    Sigh.

  • Yes she was - I should have been more clearer - I was excited about my outfit (Adventurer Set for Star!) that KA1 rendered was off on an adventure. My set was created for Poser only as I'm a new to Daz Studio being originally at RDNA.

Star! is a such a fun toon

I've been playing around with Star a bit, and her built in morphs for her face are really impressive. The bishoujou style isn't so much my thing though, so it's a pity I can't mix her body with say Keiko's or just genesis characters in general. Might have to try making some custom body morphs for her.

    Greetings,

Just for fun, I tweaked Star's skin as best I could for Iray.  Interestingly, I left the hair alone, though, as the gloss made it a little more toon-y to me. :)

It's really interesting working with the character and its various outfits; the choices made are VERY different than the ones made by most G3F characters and clothes, which made me stretch my knowledge of how to kit-bash a little bit more.  Always fun, that. :)

My wife pointed out that this is totally the wrong kind of scene for Star; the character's limbs seem MADE to be guide-lines for action/motion, so just...standing around, isn't using her to the best capability.  I used a G2F pose, fwiw, and it worked perfectly.  The second was with an IGD Andromeda pose, which also looks awesome!

While all of the Star Picts have been great so far, this one really struck me as both beautiful and haunting, nicely done!

Finally had a few moments to test Star and Aeridis3D's Comet morph, just a quickie shot using the Genesis Supersuit, Smay's Chibi Boy hair and a couple of OOT's facial morphs.

I'm very impressed with Aeridis3D's clones for both Star and Comet, are there any similar ones out there for Chip and Cookie? Has anyone bookmarked any good tutorials for building clones (in case I can't pay someone to do them for me)?
