Best pc I can have for 1500us?

I'm new in Daz. I have a notebook i5 8gb ram and no graphic card. I want a new one desktop pc. For fast rendering is enough with a 1500 dollar pc? Thanks

I just ordered one for $1454. Check this thread:

As you will see I initially picked out a couple of off-the-shelf ones but wound up getting a better deal by having one customized and taking advantage of some sale prices. Although not all the sale prices are still in effect you may get some ideas by reading the various comments by members helping me as I went along.

Besides ones mentioned in that thread there is also this one to consider:

...make sure the CPU is an i7 (Quad i5's do not have hyperthreading).  I'd go with no less than 16 GB, 32 GB if you can afford it. If you are looking to work in Iray, an Nvidia GTX 980 TI would be sufficient for most GPU rendering (6 GB video memory). AMD GPUs will not work with Iray so don't bother with them. Make sure the system has a decent power supply (most often off the shelf systems are somewhat anemic in this department) and a case with superior cooling (my case has 6 fans including one large one on the left side panel by the GPU).

  • Thanks guys!!

Mostly I would have to agree with Koyoto Kid and you definitely need at least a 4GB nVidia video card; The nVidia GTX 980ti is clearly much better than the GTX 970; but the price of the GTX980ti is twice that of the GTX970 which will also work in most situations. You also needs lots of RAM and if it is choice between only affording 16GB RAM and getting the more expensive GTX980ti or getting 32GB RAM and the less expensive GTX 970, I would get the 32GB RAM and the GTX (&). Of course if you can afford it getting 32GB RAM and the GTX 980ti would be best. Also if you are having it custom built and have a choice get a brand name power supply that is 80+ bronze (or better yet 80+ gold) certified. The generic ones tend to be less reliable and can damage other expensive components when they fail.
