I'm on a low speed (dialup) connection - and if they don't start posting announcement letters with a link to the announcement web page (NOT the MM store web page!) - well, let's just say that the best I get at home is a web page of March Madness items showing nothing but linkless black boxes
I know this is a bit late now, but it was showing fine for me within 30mins of Daz midnight last night.
Argh you guys are killing me making detailed old-world European towns that are just modern enough to not pass for being medieval. ;)
http://www.daz3d.com/march-madness-2016 page, Moonpath Garden and Betty Hair aren't clickable.
It's to do with the image overlaying them slightly. If you scroll the products down a bit you can click on them.
Nope. It doesn't. The others in that row are clickable with the image and the text. Even mousing over all of it, scrolling, still not clickable anywhere.
Make sure you're on the page I linked, not the main page that shows the new items. They work on that page, but not on the page I linked.
I'm able to click on the title bits of those 2 on that page just fine. Using Chrome.
Yeah, there's definitely something wrong with the overlying image breaking those links - but if you get the products right down to the bottom of the screen (at least on my screen) you can click them again.
Those two are dead as a doornail for me (Firefox).
I am using Chrome, scrolling them to the top of the page, middle, bottom, halfway off the page, nothing works except the add to cart button. I can't get a hand, only the pointed arrow, even with scrolling. I'm not messing with it anymore as I'm not buying anything, and it works from the other page.
So have there been any more secret sales for buyers that non-buyers aren't supposed to know about?
Gah! March Madness is driving me mad! LOL
I just spent somewhere of 60-70$ picking up some items that I needed as this weekend was payday. The only reason I picked them up was some of the items had a little discount to go with and I figured that the other stuff I needed wasn't going to go on sale anytime soon.
Well guess my surprise when I woke up this morning and nearly everything sitting in my cart waiting for next pay was either 50% off or nearly 50% off :(
So now I'm trying to decide if I should impulse spend and pick up whatever happens to be on sale in 2 weeks when I get paid again, or try to hold out for the MM catch-up sale... whenever that is.
Knowing that Cath has got another pack of her wonderful shaders coming out but not knowing how much it will be is helping to keep the lid nicely on my spends for now. They look absolutely glorious so far (although I realise much of that is down to her amazing talent for using them), and I probably won't be spending much if anything until they're safely in the grasp of my cabbage clutchers :) There's not a lot to drive me mad in the decision to either buy yet another product that I could doubtless live without, just because it's cheaper than usual, or to save my cash for something that could easily breathe new life into the gazillions of products I already own.
March spendings here so far amount to precisely $13.47. I wish every month could be as 'mad' as this one!
I ended up picking up Sapphire hair, but not the bundle. Maybe someday when I embrace Genesis 3 I'll feel stupid for doing so, but for now...
The problem with the unresponsive links has now been sorted out.
my march budget is tapped, so with the exception of the 3D
text package and it's expansion....shopping is over for me until
next month.
If the 3D text package goes on sale at sometime this month,
will find the money for it
I've just caved and bought Longitude and Latitude lighting for iRay, and Skylar character and hair for G2F, both of which were in my wishlist. I used my March PC+ PA coupon as well, so they came in at just over $7 each. I'm happy enough with that :)
There are a few things I've liked, but only a couple I've actually broken down and bought this MM. 1 item I'm definitely hoping for a catchup sale as I let that one slip away and regret it. But, like @Astracadia I know of a couple of products coming down the pike that I want more than anything I've seen so far (of those products I managed to resist). I'm saving for those to make sure I have the funds for them. Mec4D's Vol. 2 shaders are one and the other are Zev0's upcoming skins for his Growing Up products. If I don't buy anything else this month or next, those will definitely be in my cart.
It is tough having to reign myself in, especially when I see Ironman13's Movie Theater or HowieFarkes Hapsburg. I was determined not to spend any money this MM, but I did break down and get a few really good products. My husband says I need to work on my 'Delayed Gratification Skills' which I am sorely lacking right now. So, I guess I'm working on those this MM.
So far my question is "when does the ""Madness"" start?
The madness is like a deadly assassin, you don't see it coming until it's already been there.
I think madness started during the last week of Febuary (when DO's were 60% off and we got a load of 60% off PA sales). It stopped at the beginning of March unless you are a big purchaser of new products, in which case 40-50%+ off could be considered madness. Recently a lot of the best deals occur outside of the so called "big" sales. Having said that, last years MM had a few days when particularly mad deals cropped up, but none so far this year.
There was also that extra secret deal last week that made for some amazing bargains with the way it stacked with the madness sales.
Though to be honest, I didn't actually purchase any of the things I had lined up in my cart. For some reason I got told off for asking about the offer whereas all the other comments people made were fine, and no one said anything when the last few secret offers were discussed on the forums either. That combined with the nature of offering secret deals "buy our stuff and maybe one day you'll get a discount, or not, just buy it and find out!" really put me off buying things so I cancelled the purchases I had lined up.
I find myself working on my own 'Delayed Gratification Skills' as well...
As it turns out, I bought some store credit in anticipation for MM, so I do have some funds. So far, I haven't seen anything that screams out, "Buy me NOW!" But I have added numerous things I'd like to have to my wishlist, as there a lot of great products getting released. Just nothing I can't live without for a month or six.

I, too, am waiting for Mec4d's vol 2 shaders. It's looking like that may be the only thing I buy this year. Guess that balances out the hundreds of dollars I spent last year! lol
Since I was not offered a secret deal, then I was not a position to experience that particular "madness".
The thing about this year's MM is that the sales prices are definitely worse than previous sales -- even non-MM ones. Getting the daily mindblower *and* the Girl Pro bundle only nets a max discount of 60% (more with PC+, but for DO items)... of which you'd have to buy an item *daily* and purchase an expensive Pro bundle beforehand.
I've made purchases last week and took advantage of the 'hidden' discount already, but that's only two out of seven or so days.
I'd hate to say it, but this daily mindblower item is akin to the dreaded "punch cards" of past sales, but much *much* worse.
I think that might be where the 'mad' bit comes in - excluding a whole load of shoppers each day from the chance to spend money on a bunch of more deeply discounted items just because a another single particular item isn't something they'd use. I'd have thought that even the nicest of the 'Mindblowers' would only hit the spot with a minority. I haven't bought one of them yet and some of them have looked very appealing, they just weren't anything that could be of real use to me right now.
I got the 'hidden' discount and promptly loaded up my cart. Then I wondered why saving a percentage on stuff I'd not been in any rush to buy prior to this was any better than saving 100% by not buying it at all, and promptly emptied it again :)
I'm really not a fan of these sales tactics either. Februrary's deals were so great, too.
I'll still use my PC+ coupons - but not til the latter half of the month, when hopfully the madness that's possessed Daz has passed.
The weirdest thing about this sale is that the meagre discount for buying now (50%-60% depending on your purchases) only works if the buyer is willing to trade money for time-to-ownership. However, unless the item in question is *that* good, there will *always* be future sales and promotions; there's no danger of product obsolecence or discontinuation; and there's no scarcity issue... so it ultimately comes down to total discounted price *or* greater incentives to purchase back-catalogued (ie. not new release) items.
Then again, there was a *lot* of feedback concerning the complexity of punch cards and certain sales, so I wouldn't be surprised if the 'simplicity' of this sale -- and the lack of discounts -- is due to that feedback :/
The terms of this year's MM are better than last year's. Last year, the 40%/50% discount was only triggered by buying new arrivals, and (i think) only applied to them too. If you're PC+ it's good, as the discounts apply to PC+ prices too, and they often don't in Daz sales (though, as has been pointed out, we very recently had 60% off all PC+ prices so it's not that big a deal).
What I'm looking out for is other sales that stack with the MM discount (that's what I look for with punch sales too, for that matter). I was lucky enough to get the 50% off Daz Originals last week, and stacking it with MM got 83% off a load of Goldtassel hairs.
The daily mindblower isn't that big a deal for me one way of the other. If you like and can use/afford it, you get a small extra discount. A nice bonus, but you have to be spending a lot of cash to make it a meaningful amount.
