Take to the Floor DS Gobo Lighting

How does this light set work?

I create a floor plane...

I select some lights from the set...

I render, and see nothing...

How do these lights work?

Some instructions with the kit would have been nice.

I don't have the set you are talking about, but I'm having trouble with the Ultramarine Blue set - I'm not getting the wave pattern gobo set to work on my renders. Can someone please help us figure out how these gobo sets are supposed to work? Many thanks ahead of time for any help.

I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with the lights. Are you using the pre made presets or are you trying to create your own options from the sub folders?

The lights should load in central to the scene, the same as how genesis does.

If so, if you are trying to create your own presets? Please remember when adding multiple lights in a scene in DS, you need to hold down the 'alt' key on the keyboard so it doesn't automatically delete the lights you have loaded into the scene.

If you load in one of the pre created light presets do the lights still not render?

I just bought take to the floor and shadow play and can't get the lghts to work in DAZ 4.9. Tried many variations, but generally

add plane and set surface to either iray uber base or some other flat texture or leave surface alone

thsn add a light from the set -- tried with and without gobo presets. The light sets load and show in nvidia render but very faint and no shadow pattern applied. No amount of fiddling with any of the lights seem to do much. Also, have tried parenting the plane to different nodes, still no joy.

I figure I must be missing something. Any chance there's a guide to whatever will make it work somewhere?

These lights aren't for use with iray. They're for the daz studio 3Delight render engine and uber environment lighting.

There's a Poser and a DS version of the product.

ahh -- that would explain it -- thank you. So, tried my render with 3dl, and, yes, it's as simple as add the preset to the scene.

a few setups and this works great, Thanks for the response. For iray, I'm picking up http://www.daz3d.com/gobo-lights-for-daz-studio-iray -- very excited.
