    'Daz gave me all this money, better hold on to it for March Madness... ... wait, where'd it go...'

    At least I had another unexpected windfall for next month. ;)

     

    (I discovered a bunch of 20 year old MTG cards in a back closet I had forgotten about, and it turns out they are worth a fair amount of money. Though I'm kicking myself -- I sold a card ~2000 for $200. Cool, huh? Yes. It is currently worth $20,000. ... guh)

    ((And I hate to crow about my good fortune, but it's a relief after a few extremely stressful years that are finally letting up))

    Alpha and Beta, some Unlimited.

    Just sold 4 beta Moxes. Woot.

    (Going to go talk to a local guy, I have a lot of lower value cards that aren't very worth mailing)

    Yeah. Now I'm down to the cards worth $20 or something and lands. Loooots of lands.

    You had FOUR beta Moxes? *faints*

    But yes, stacked B25/Sarsa stuff destroyed my wallet too :) Just a reminder that DO/Sarsa or even Arien is still up too, so it's about -85% off if you're in PC+. And the DO discount works for PC+ items too.

    My husband still has about 10 long boxes of first run cards I haven't let him give away yet. Maybe if he bought me a new vid card with the proceeds...

    Greetings,

    *sigh* I've lost thousands of dollars of magic cards, at various points in time.  Once I left a deck formed mostly of rare beta and arabians cards on a video game machine at a movie theater.  It was gone when I came back...  Who knew...? :-/  My pride, that's still left, is a few alpha Shivan Dragons.  I made it a goal to get 11 of them, which meant I owned 1% of all the alpha Shivans in the world.  Not sure I still have 11, but it was cool for a while...

    Of course I've also made a mortgage payment, a few rent payments, and a ton of other smaller purchases by selling cards.  It was better than an ATM card...  If I was low on money, I could swing by a local magic store, drop a Force of Will, they'd drop a $20 (it's worth ~$80 now), and I'd go get lunch.

    Anyway, congrats Tim!

    And I have to admit, the sales recently have been...something else.  The thing that'll make March Madness 'mad' is the content, though.  If we get great sales on new, cool content, that'll definitely make up for the fact that it's not anywhere near 85% off... ;)

    Magic The Gathering. Collectible card game, the one that kicked off all the rest (more or less) and made Wizards of the Coast into a (relative) powerhouse (and gave them the money to buy D&D).

    Ah thanks, must have missed that. I was very much into RPG of the pencil and paper variety many moons back. I remember the name Wizards of the Coast from when I used to play Neverwinter Nights.
