Why don't we give them a bit of time? It's only JUST been announced today - it's possible DAZ staff and RDNA staff are flat out like a lizard drinking doing behind the scenes stuff. Someone might right now be busy typing up a comprehensive FAQ that may answer all our questions. This thread moves fast - they might not be monitoring it every second due to other concerns and duties they have for work and not seeing all the questions. It's been said that it's going to happen over the next few weeks so there is time for them to answer all our questions over the next few days.

    Very valid points!

You're right. And I'm sure they are extremely busy. But if we can get an answer now rather than having to comb through threads looking for one, then that is preferable, wouldn't you say? Daz handled the PC to PC+ transition with open official communication. The DazConnect transition not so much. I know they're a relatively small outfit, and they may not be able to assign one person to only oversee customer relations regarding this issue. But asking is the way to receive, my friend.

No, just that the email address associated with your account matches.

The vital information is the email address, not the name.

  • And could someone from Daz please answer my question of yesterday: will the products made for the Hivewire figures be moving to the Daz store?

Hivewire has it's own Store Online, no need to worry.

That's not the point Zilvergrafix...there were many items for Dawn and Dusk at RDNA and many that I've bought from there. I'm just wondering if I need to make sure I have them downloaded or if they will come here with other RDNA products.

Jaki, good point and I'm willing to wait but would like to get an answer as soon as they can.

  • KeryaKerya Posts: 10,943

We still don't have an answer for those products that are NOT going to be moved here, so those questions are valid.

The RDNA HW items were sold at RDNA not HIVEWIRE. So I would like to know from someone at Daz if they will be moving to the Daz store? Two days and still waiting.

Some of you may have accounts at Runtime DNA.  If so

    • The forums and Gallery at Runtime DNA will remain open.

Will the RDNA TOS remain in effect or will the DAZ TOS precide over these forums and gallery.

I have many images posted at that gallery that will clearly violate the DAZ TOS

    JV

We have no current plans to change the way the galleries or forums at runtime work or are regulated.  We will have to watch that and how it develops and decide over time.

I've not looked at RDNA's image post limiations, but assuming from comments, just offhand this might offer a unique opportunity to satisfy both sets of people; by maintaining two separate sites with galleries at each site, one site could be kept more strict than the other, allowing the "family friendly" (or whatever it is considered) DAZ website for those who want those restrictions but allowing somewhat more leeway at the RDNA website for those who don't want those restrictions. (or whichever way it goes if I have that backwards.) Each of the more strict ends of the user base can migrate to whichever of the two they prefer, and those that have no preference can access each.

Daz user here, but buying products here of G3F for example, and where the skin is almost completely covered is annoying - well I don't bother. Having the full texture visible on RDNA would be a great opportunity.

So I decided to check an old email address I haven't used in forrever and find over 7000 emails, the majority of which are RDNA newsletters...I don't even remember seetting up and account there let alone purchasing anything.  So I tried signing in and of course cannot remember what my password was, probably written down at home somewhere, so at the moment waiting for them to send me a link to reset my password but it is taking a long time to get their email.

I understand that there servers are rather busy due to people downloading all of their purchases as the merger has not been well received

You believe saying less is a way of adding emphasis I believe. :)

You have a point, but this wasn't suggested, planned and arranged in a day; they have had weeks and likely months to plan this.

I've just filed a support ticket asking that question. Given the speed at which this thread moves, that's the only way they will give an answer to this, outside of actually simply converting the items over and you actually seeing them.

I assked this once. But Does this mean Daz will be offering support for little fox star character?

and our huge library of content there will be moved over to our products libraries here at daz.  I got like 20 pages of content over at RDN

here is my biggest question. does this mean you will be encrypting all the products sold in the future there with Daz connect  as well?

I think these have been asked, but I'm going to ask them again so that they might qualify for the "F" part of "FAQ"

Might it be possible to have a list, somewhere, of which vendors are - and more importantly are not - transitioning to DAZ? I realize that this could take a couple of weeks as vendors make their decisions.

What will happen to items in our RDNA order history from Vendors who do not make the move to DAZ?  (or individual items that vendors don't migrate for whatever reason)

Given they're migrating the store, I don't think there is a 'sold in the future' there. Encrypting Poser based product isn't possible as Poser doesn't support content encryption.  If the RDNA artists make new DS releases I'm guessing they'll be on the same basis as other Daz releases.

As vendors obviously got information about the merger 5 minutes before the rest of us ... they will still be thinking about it ... I think.

The second part of your question is interesting for me too (I have quite a lot of older Transpond etc. content that will be deemed too old to migrate, I am sure of that).

Okay Daz I changed my account information to match what I have at daz. go ahead merge away

I suspect there will be a difference between RDNA products available for download via your product library, and the ones that get released for sale here. That means previous owners of those products could download them, even if they are not for sale, in the same way as we can still download products that were once on sale here, but have now been withdrawn.

Having said that, I believe DAZ has a policy of not releasing products dependent on content available elsewhere, even freebies. This is understandable as they want any dependent products to be clickable product links to their own store which you can then buy as well. If they stick to this policy (and my guess is that they will), then previous RDNA products for say Dawn or Dusk will not go on sale here, although existing owners should (based on what has been said by the DAZ staff) be able to download those products. In addition some RDNA vendors may not want their products listing here, and so these will not appear as new products, although again existing users should still be able to download them (I don't think the vendors could stop this for existing customers who have paid for the license, though I am not sure of the exact legalities in these circumstances).

On the topic of finding Poser stuff, I find that doing a search for 'Poser' is pretty useful, and you can winnow the results from there. Having an explicit Poser (or other compatible software) entry would be nice, though. (Heck, I've often wanted for a toggle for DS because I'll go 'oh yay, that's awesome... oh, Bryce only')

  • SInce when has an aquisition been announced with all the  traniston details already worked out?? Yeah, maybe the aquisition has been in the works for a while, but there is no way all of the transition details have been worked out.

What about RDNA vendors that decide to pull their products? Will our access to those files go *poof*?

I haven't seen this question answered as of yet, can one of the daz_ people answer it please?

daz_Steve can you please address this question as well? this will affect a large number of us.

I have asked three times now and several others have asked as well and all we are hearing is crickets and silence ... What is being done to assure the continued downloading of purchased content from vendors that do not migrate to daz? Since daz is the new owner of Runtime DNA it is now thier responsibility to assure continued downloading of previously purchased content.

  • another question (greedy me lol)as i won often in contests or images of the week on other sites such as fantasyattic and dreamslayers sponsored by rdna my question is :will daz be also sponsoring in the future?? because as captain of the market (what i will surely become when it buys up all the competition) daz can surely afford to do sponsoring yes??lol.

I second this question, and add another;  I also have won a list of items from a variety of contests at Dreamslayer and Fantaasy Attic where the prize was sponsored by RDNA.  (THANK YOU!)   These items are in my "gifts to-from" folder on RDNA. They are listed as gifts from Admin-Syyd. Will these be downloadable at Daz after the transition as well?  I have downloaded them all, of course, but it was very *comforting* to know that should anything happen, I could download them again.. Thank you for the help!

  • DAZ_Steve is likely looking into our questions, butwhat happens may depend on contracts, etc. and require the lawyers to weigh in, so he may not be able to answer yet.  I would like answers sooner than later like the rest of you, but if I was Steve there is no want in he** I would post soemthing that had not been vetted by management and the lawyers. And think about how often people point out that DAZ changes their mind on things. That has been harped on so many times that if I was Steve, I would quadruple check before giving an answer.  With that said, a ost statign they acknowledge the questions and are looking into them would be nice.

daz_steve has taken the time to answer several questions ... the least that he could do is achknowledge the fact that we are asking the questions and he is attempting to find an answer for us.

I won't expect DAZ reps to come out in this thread and promise the same question about whether all content at R

For that question, do as consumers must do and that's protect their own interests independently of what DAZ and RTDNA do. So head on over to RTDNA and start downloading what you bought and archive as much as you feel is needed. If you have a long wish list and haven't got the money well that's not a tragedy.

As to what artist will or will not be moving their content and what content of theirs they won't be moving that's probably a question better asked of the individual artists for now if you're that impatient, should they be available for asking.

Please remember that DAZ_Steve does have a busy marketing dept to run, and March Madness starting next week we assume.  It is only a day or so since this announcement was made and tbh I would think that they are probably reading this thread, taking note of the Questions asked, and then will come back and make one consolidated post, rather than spending too much time just watching the two threads. If anything that needs a really urgent answer does come up, be assured that DAZ_Steve will be aware of it. Nothing is going to happen overnight, this kind of merger takes time to work out.

It has already been said somewhere in one of the threads that gifts will be added to your account the same as purchased items.

I understand there is a lot going on Chohole, but it seems like they are picking the simple questions and answering them, but does little to address the larger questions, even if it is only to say he hears us and will get back to us when he knows something. Right now it feels like my concerns and those of the others asking the same question are being ignored, and before anyone starts jumping up and down and yelling, I am sure thats not the intent but that is how it appears to me right now.

  • As you're all aware, there has been a lot announced here in the forums over the last two weeks.  We are aware that there are still outstanding questions.  Many of these answers are still in the process of being determined.  As such, I am goign to "un-sticky" this thread.  You will see other threads posted with additional information and announcement in the coming days and weeks.

We hear your questions.  We are aware of them.  We will answer them.

    Onward and upward :)
