A not-so-random question regarding products: Are *all* of the products being brought over, including the promo images? Because some promo images were definitely NSFW... It might be a lot of work to verify all of the promo images and to redo them if necessary.
That's another good question!
Dana
Indeed it is a good question, the forums and gallery can be easily left under the RDNA rules, but I assume the promos can not.
I have one product already accepted, one waiting for acceptance and another in the works- one promo shows the dirty bloody version of the G2M's skin set- I hope I don't have to re-do promos. Really. :) I'm still cranking to get the G3M figure done.
My email here and at RDNA is the same, but the log ins are different; is that an issue? I had already sent my email to the person in charge of shifting things here, but I'm concerned about having to re-do most of the work already done with the product that is finished and the one waiting for QA.
Dar
When and how long will the change happen?
Steve I have two accounts over at RDNA (one when I was a vendor at RDNA and one for only customer use) with both accounts I purchased content and both share the same email adress. Will these two accounts be merged and put as a whole in my daz account with all my purchase history/downloads?
Sounds like all the RDNA original figures will be welcome here -- Star, Cookie, etc. (Yay!) I'm hardly in-the-know, but I'm betting you'll probably need to visit HW for Dawn, Dusk, and Luna items. I'm sure HW will welcome those products.
what about my gift certificate from Runtime DNA
are they going to work at Daz ?
I've not looked at RDNA's image post limiations, but assuming from comments, just offhand this might offer a unique opportunity to satisfy both sets of people; by maintaining two separate sites with galleries at each site, one site could be kept more strict than the other, allowing the "family friendly" (or whatever it is considered) DAZ website for those who want those restrictions but allowing somewhat more leeway at the RDNA website for those who don't want those restrictions. (or whichever way it goes if I have that backwards.) Each of the more strict ends of the user base can migrate to whichever of the two they prefer, and those that have no preference can access each.
If I've never been a member of RDNA or shopped there will my DAZ account be logged in there too or will all the products from there now be available in the store here. Do I have to go to that website? I'm confused as to how this merger happens....
I think the answer to that question is in the thread over here: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/72307/runtime-dna-merges-with-daz-3d/p1
If you've never shopped at RDNA or have an account there, nothing will change for you. The RDNA stuff is coming over here from what I've read, and it was stated that RDNA would slowly close over the next few months. (I'm just trying to find the link for that - I think it was DAZ_Steve who said it, but not positive...will try and track down link)
Thanks DAZ_Ann and jakiblue, must have missed that when I was reading through it all, going to reread :)
LOL Anne as usual beat me to it.
But DAZ_Steve states here: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/1019922/#Comment_1019922
We will be migrating old Poser content, and accepting new Poser content. The store there will be going away over a period of months.
Oh Ok guess I am quoting myself but oh well...I guess I will wait to see what turns up here in the store or how it happens over the next while, I popped over there to look around and I see alot of familiar PA names and lots of great products, can't believe I never shopped there!
Some (ok, a lot) of older items in the RDNA product line are vaulted and are no longer listed (particularly products of artists who have separated from RDNA), but previous purchases can still download them (similar to the DAZ store). Will that still be the case?
I haven't seen this question answered as of yet, can one of the daz_ people answer it please?
I'm curious who owns who. Is DAZ still the official owner, and did Runtime DNA get bought out?
Would like to know as well since when Daz closed Poser Pros after their merger I lost access to everything that wasn't specifically Daz from that store and it wasn't a small amount
Please see the first post of this thread.
The first post is a bit unclear. It says that as products are migrated to DAZ they'll appear in our libraries. It doesn't say what will happen with products Daz won't be selling for one reason or another that may not be considered 'migrated'.
Thank you Jaki LOL I couldnt find it LOL :)
I believe that you should be able to download anything you putchased at RDNA here at DAZ :)
Let me see if I can find that answer..I think that one may be over in the other thread as well :) Though it is touched on in the first post of this thread as Mike mentioned...
OK no that hasn't specifically been answered yet...good question though. Ill point the post out to someone though Daz 3D is closed now so it may be tomorrow before you get an answer :)
I could guess the answer but I rather have it confirmed for sure :)
Mike that answers the question about vendors that migrate there is no mention of vendors that pull their content.
Well this is why I asked one of the daz_ people to answer this question. I would like it straight from the horses mouth so to speak instead of rampant speculation.
That's fine. It's not a major concern for me, but I can see it being a worry for others. I do have some items in purchase history that aren't sold anymore and the maker isn't with RDNA anymore so it would be nice to know if they will migrate or not as I can imagine there might be reasons they can't be.
I have purchases over there as well and it seems a valid question/concern so I did ask and point out the post etc :)
Shhhh don't tell, Daz_ann0314 shopped at RDNA
Heh. I think any of us who do 3d art for a year or more end up buying from nearly every 3d content shop out there at one time or another. I've even bought from Japanese poser stores where I could barely read enough to navigate. :)
