bundle installer files vs. installers of products within bundle

When there is a bundle that has installers, are the installers supposed to supplement or replace the installers of the products within the bundle?  Or does it depend?

(I use manual install, not DIM.)

Not counting single products with "bundle" in the name, I originally thought bundles were usually empty wrappers for the products they contain, but I've just realized that is incorrect.

I tried comparing the files of the top level of the bundle to the files of the two products within it for one bundle (the dragonbraid bundle), and it seems like there is overlap but probably I should delete the individual product installers and install the bundle instead?

But then I looked at the "Michael 4 Pro Bundle", and it looks like consists of another bundle plus an additional "Michael 4 Pro Bundle Extra Poses" installer that maybe isn't in any of the sub products?

Maybe I'm looking for a pattern that doesn't exist, and I just have to figure out on a case-by-case basis which installers are overlap and which aren't?

Why not just install them all? If there is overlap, theoretically the previously installed file would be overwritten by an identical file. I know I bought one product (can't remember which) in which the bundle installer contained additional files that were not in any of the individual installers for that bundle. Most other products I have purchased do not even have a bundle installer, just the individual installers. So, I don't think there is any consistency.

I hadn't thought about it until your post, however if there was overlap and one product was updated with a fix (either by the vendor or a manually made fix) and the other was not, overwritting files could loose the fix and go with the older version.  (not an issue with DIM, only an issue with manual installation.)  Other than that though I guess you have a point it would probably be easier to just install them all.  (For me it would be a bit of wasted space and duplicate icons as I have my own weird process of installing each product into it's own folder, but not really a big deal if that happened.)
