Transgender Genesis 2 Anyone?
Well, it's been a while, but I've been tinkering in Poser 11 Pro lately, first to upgrade my shaders to SuperFly compatibility and then to experiment with Genesis 2. I primarily still use Genesis 1 due to its transgender and adult/child morphing capability. I've had it explained to me why Daz split up the male and female figures again for Genesis 2, but honestly, from my perspective, I don't think it was worth it. I thought having both genders and both adult/juvenile shapes available in the same base figure was a great idea during generation 4, even before Daz caught on. I even toyed around extensively with Vittorio and my own juvenilizing morphs. So for Daz to catch on to the idea for only a single generation before just reverting back to separate base figures was a major disappointment. So, on a whim, perhaps emboldened by my first successful foray into SuperFly rendering, I decided to see if I could make Genesis 2 transgender-morphable and so have the best of both worlds.
I was especially motivated by two main advantages of Genesis 2. First, the return of the built-in eye surface material zone is a major convenience, because without it, it's very difficult to get an external eye surface to follow the eyes closely enough as they move and/or resize when you morph a character. Second, for some odd reason, the DSON automated morph transfer for clothing no longer works for Genesis (I tried practically everything, but I eventually gave up), but as far as I can tell, it does work for Genesis 2.

So this, believe it or not, is a render of the Genesis 2 Female base morphed to be half M6 and half M4. I'm encouraged by my results! I just wish I could get my new morphs working. The standard-issue head and body morphs work fine, but Shape Shift, Ethnics, and Thorne's resource kits do absolutely nothing. Curiously enough, the same is true for the unaltered DSON-imported Genesis 2 Basic Female CR2, so I don't think it's anything about the customized CR2 that's causing the problem.
