I also have a story about this guy.
I posted some art I made with him on an art forum I go to, and while 95% of the people there loved the piece, one guy (well 2 guys) tried to insult it because of the medium, saying it is not my work if I buy all the things in my scene. I politely explained that I made all the characters in the scene, and that it is my business to make characters. One guy even went through the daz site and pulled up the other rhino in the store and called me a fraud and a liar because they "knew" that the rhino was not made by me. Again I politely explain that my rhino was not in the store yet, I had just made it. But he just kept on callign me a liar and a fraud, and various other insults to my work. So...i ignored it after that and enjoyed the laugh as to how determined people are to hate the medium we work in.
Rawn
Here is the piece I made
Awesome character and art. What a creep! I can think of an excellent place for Rhinehold to park that horn of his ;)
Thanx......Artists are an ego-inflated bunch...if it is not their style a thing is not art. LOL
Haters gonna hate... Glad to see it didn't put you down. Keep up the good work Raw!
It's amazing how many utter *s there are out there.
Keep up the good work, I'm a huge fan of your stuff (as witnessed by my owning half of your products here. ;)
Does this model use HD morphs? I'm trying to expand my list of options with GenX2, now that it includes G3, but the inability to transfer HD morphs is a fly in the ointment.
I remember seeing this in the gallery! I really liked it and hoped to see it in the store soon. All I keep thinking are the possibilities of using it as the basis for a rhino shifter type series of images! One of the major reasons I get most of your stuff is to try and show a transition from human to RawArt figure to animal which has become much easier since I figured out how to do this with Puppeteer and animation! This should be a fun experiment with AM's Rhinoceros! He looks really good!
As for the gallery hater ( I wanted to call him something else, but it wasn't polite for the forum), at least you have the options of getting rid of nasty comments like that. It would be ten times worse if some hater put comments like that on your page and you no recourse for getting rid of them. And, you took it in stride like a true gentleman (gee, I hope I got the gender right) and were able to get past the ignoramus. You do wonderful work and anyone who truly follows your work knows what a genius you are when it comes to this type of character!
Thanx Guys...glad you are digging this guy.
He should hit the store tomorrow. Yes this set is HD..all my characters are now.
As for the insults from the supposed artist....well..to be absolutely honest, I like controveersy and enjoy a good argument. I am pretty confident in my work. So if someone has some serious critique of my work, where there are flaws in my layout or design or whatnot...then I would listen. But if it is just haters hating...then I get a kick out of messing with them with the reality of things.
Hey Rawn! Since you're inviting "Haters", can I hate on you some? :)
Kendall
(Before anyone goes nuts, RawArt and I are friends)
You can try......but I am just too damned lovable to hate :p
Darn! You always pull that card don't cha... We all know the truth though...

:)
You guys crack me up!
EXPOSE! What the PA world has to contend with... RawArt's REAL IDENTITY:
No! That is just a rumour, spread by dogs!
'Reinhold das Nashorn' by Loriot looked more friendly... ;-) , but 'Rhinehold' looks like a great figure!

I did not know about this strip....and here I thought I was being so clever with his name :P
Reinventing the ... name. LOL
so according to that person only one person is ever allowed to make a grey alien, vampire, werewolf, dragon, zombie or any other type of character or anything else including plants, buildings vehicles extra and once one person has done it noone else is allowed to create and offer their interpretation version wow if that were the case art in any form would be virtually dead what a idiot jerk wanna say something else hate dealing with these types. Anyway yeah there's at least another one here and one saw on r but all are different and unique which is cool as you could use them in a scene together and they would be unique from each other and not clones btw like that detail downloading now cool thing too the sale got few of your characters cobra king and queen, ogora and boaris. plans on werewolf 3? :) and other new versions of classic monsters? :) oh and some inspired by warhammer and warhammer 40,000 :) ogora fits well there warhammer/40000 inspired warcraft and starcraft, the creators of wh tabletop games invested in have computer games created of their franchises but there was a falling out and because blizzard had already done so much and owned those rights warcraft/starcraft become their own franchises and why there are similar looks to the races in all the games. Anyways if you look up wh/40k might give you some cool ideas :) oh did I ask about turtlemen yet or birdmen or insectmen or ghosts not normal ghosts ghosts displaying how they came to be or maybe I should stop this might go on forever

Don't forget Will that HD morphs are not the only issue with transfering these kind of creatures via GenX2. Geografts are also not transferred, and I would be very surprised if the horn on Rhinehold was not a geograft.
Yeah, but it's a lot easier to stick a horn on his nose than to have smooth baby skin. ;)
Horn is not a geograft ;)
I would have been surprised to find that it was as most of the RawArt characters I have are modeled all the way. I don't think I have a single one of his characters with geografts on them.
edit: I think it was a bad grammar day for me. ;) fixed the word order.
How are transfers going to G3? I haven't tried them yet, but all of my older RawArt characters that I've transfered to G2 worked like a charm once I figured out what I need to do with the M4 textures. Took me a few tries to figure out that I still needed M4 even when I was working with the V4 model on some of them.
Interesting, I am surprised the end of the nose had enough polys to create a horn.
Knittingmommy: Finding out how much cool stuff required HD morphs was kind of a damper, but I've managed to pull some useful morphs back and forth. If nothing else, being able to (relatively) easily migrate DieTrying's 187 freebie morphs to G3 is super handy.
It will be more useful down the road when G3 special creatures are on some high discount sale so it'll be worth buying when I'm effectively only getting a stripped down version (IE: what will transfer to G2).
My procedural skin experiments plug a lot of gaps in Genesis 3 textures for me, but they work best with HD. So it's sort of two steps forward/one back.
To people actually on board the G3 train (toot toot), I would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend GenX2 for it.
It doesnt...the horn is a smart prop
