When I was a little bitty baby my Mama would lock me in the cradle...
true but it is less tempting than keeping it on my desk while I am on the computer.
One more adventure this year and perhaps all of next year. Medical problems are creeping up and I have to prepare for major expenses next month and later in the winter. Paying off two surgerys and perhaps 3 or more will take dicipline.
However, I'm treating myself to one more symphony concert before I have to get seriously tied up. Looking forward to being at the Kleinhan's Music Hall in Buffalo on a Sunday afternoon in October. An all Tchaikovsky concert. "Sleeping Beauty Suite", "3rd Piano Concerto" and his "5th Symphony". Rain I can deal with and hopefully it's early enough in the season to avoid snow. That's the problem with symphonies in the north in winter, you can't plan on the weather not screwing you up. I hate to waste event tickets. And being of the ancient persuasion I have night vision problems so if I go to an evening performance farther away than 50 miles I don't feel safe driving home at night and have to make it an overnighter with all the expense that entails.
Sunday afternoon in October sounds just perfect.
Tchaikovsky 5th Symphony: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FQzc9c4LOHM Yeah, slow at the beginning, but believe me, it builds!!
2nd movement @ 14:08
3rd movement @ 27:00
4th movement @ 32:50 a grand Tchaikovsky finish! Wonderful examples of swells in this movement.

your parking pass with you this time
Right. :-) I don't bring coffee next to the computer. No need to sizzle wires.
...killed a notebook computer many years ago when I accidentally knocked a glass of fume blanc on it. Some got into the fan intake and thus was distributed around the entire innards. As the HDD was removable, what was on it was saved. Fortunately it was a used one so it didn't cost very much.
When will I learn that I should not drink ice coffee after five pm?
friday night i haz a date with a cosmo
OMG, somebody remembered my last debacle.
Yes, parking will be fine. Buffalo isn't as crowded as Pittsburgh and the football stadium is nowhere near the concert hall. But still I'm going a couple hours early just be be sure. I've gotten good at sitting and crowd watching. Saves wear and tear on my cane.
...well summer making a bit of a return here again after a dull cool rainy holiday weekend, have money in the bank again, time to enjoy what's left of a nice day and a couple pints.
pumpkin pron, tee hee
pints? it comes in pints?
coming time for pear trees to bloom? there some happy keets !
I imagine I learned the hard way, too. :-) I think I ruined a keyboard.
Hugs for what's ahead and hope you enjoy the music.
Bottoms up and na zdravje!
I think I need to go to bed.
I was trying to get eggies on Dragon Cave's site, when I came across an ad for Izabella 7 from a site called Daz3d. It says it is Genesis 3. The ad is static and does not mention what software is needed and if Izabella is free or not. I decided to click on the ad and got the second screenshot. I do not want to buy Izabella 7 so why would the ad show Izabella when I have no interest in buying her?
I am going to get off the computer asap and get into bed.
Im fed up with commercials that have all these "actors" singing like its a damn musical. Like it makes the lies easier to digest...
...hvala ti.
Had a nice evening and several extra pints were bought for me. In a very nice mood right now.
I imagine I learned the hard way, too. :-) I think I ruined a keyboard.
Them cotton boll done got rotten.
Hit Mute during the commercials. :-)
I hope you have a hair of the dog somewhere.
Dog, dog -- the very reason I'm up before dawn.

Here is my two boyfriends. Edward is kinda fishy. Oscar lives with my mum. I think I need a better boyfriend who hopefully has a job.
And I almost forgot Brett. He is also a little fishy
Brett is now in a different home now and his pool is less cloudy.
I don't think I had ever spilled anything on a computer, I have too much respect for them, but my co-workers had and it was up to me to resolve the issue.
Cheesecake in keyboard not pretty.
I get email ads from various symphonies in this region. (Pittsburg, Cleveland, Buffalo, Toronto). I'd love to go but most are evening performances and too far away. I keep track of the live performances I've seen and have a mental wishlist of masterworks I'd love to hear live. Today I got an advertisement for the Sibelius 2nd Symphony in Cleveland Sept. 29th. It's high on my wishlist but it's an evening performance and Cleveland is 120 miles away requiring a hotel stay. Unfortunately, finding a safe hotel near the concert hall (Severance Hall) is expensive ($$$) and I still have to drive 10 miles into the city from the hotel. Also unfortunately, the program also includes two other pieces I have zero interest in. I would love to go to hear the Sibelius 2nd Symphony but the ducks aren't in a row for me. I'll satisfy my itch with my Buffalo trip a couple weeks later.
But the Sibelius 2nd Symphony is wonderful. The final movement always sends chills up my spine when the deep horn and bass string notes rattle the windows. It makes a sound like those long horns in the mountains of Nepal amid screaming Scandanavian winds and majestic mountain views.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SAOf46CXaaw my spine tingling moments start building @ 34:50 and again @ 43:43 and again from 47:00 to the end (speakers with lots of bass help) (watch Leonard Bernstein literally jump around on the podium
)
