If someone comments on a render in your gallery...

how do you thank them. Do you just add a comment in the gallery? Will they even know you added it? Or do you send them a PM? Or....???

    I've seen people leave a response in the gallery comments. I don't think there is really a good way to respond to comments left in the gallery, really.

    I would suggest dropping the person or persons a PM if you want to really thank them and possibly make new friends.  I had someone drop me a PM because I was liking his images a lot and leaving comments.  I responded back and that led to several long conversations.  Led to a very nice friendship with someone in a different country which was kind of nice.  So one never knows who they might meet in the DAZ forums.  I'm not saying you'll become best buddies with someone, but you might get to know someone new a whole lot better.  I know I've made a few online friends here who I speak with regularly and some just occasionally.  Some I only see in passing, but it all started with a single PM.

    A lot of artists seem to just post a comment in their own gallery thanking people for their comments. I've had some respond personally to a comment I've made by that method. I've seen questions asked about a particular image and answered in the same way.

    I usually add a comment thanking them on the image they commented on.  Only because I figure if every person whose work I commented on contacted me via PM I would be completely overwhelmed by messages lol.

    I would take it on a case by case basis.  I don't think I've ever PM'd anyone who has made a comment on my gallery uploads myself unless it's someone like Sonya who I talk to outside of the galleries.  I do say thank you to those that have taken the time to comment on my images in the gallery.  However, if I had never gotten that PM I mentioned in the post above, I would have missed out on a very nice friendship so I think PMs are a nice way to talk to someone if you want to take a thank you a step further and make sure they know how much you appreciated the comment.  And, there have been a few regulars who have liked my images, I've thought about PMing so I may just do that sometime just to let them know I appreciate the support.  It doesn't necessarily mean that the person will PM back, but they'll know that what they said meant something.

    Like Serene Night, I do wish there was a way to follow certain artists so that I get notified when they upload stuff.  There are times when I've gone a few weeks without visiting the gallery and I know I've missed seeing something.  I usually end up doing an artist search at times just to find new uploads by friends.  I know from Sonya's thread she's been doing a lot lately and I'm sure some of it has made it into her gallery and yet I haven't seen any of it just going through the gallery pages, so I'll end up doing a search for her again as I know there are several from her thread I'd like to like if she's uploaded them.  The same is true for a few others friends in other threads.  But, I know I'll end up missing some images by people I like to keep an eye on from time to time.

    Even KevinH, the OP, had a really nice male image recently which I'll have to track down in the gallery to comment on because I saw it briefly in the Michael and Friends thread.  I just haven't managed to make it over to the gallery yet, and by the time I do, it may very well be buried.  I have to admit to being very bad lately about making comments on those images that I like in the threads I watch consistently.
