Waiting time before starting render

I hit the render button and then I have to wait one minute before the pc starts the render. It's this normal?

    Very normal... The program has to run the background driver and transfer textures etc to the rendering engine before the rendering can actually start... The more items you have in the scene the longer it can take for the actual render to start showing progress...
