I'm setting up DAZ Studio on a new laptop and am trying to set up a new path for the DAZ Install Manager. I am using an external hard drive and want to downloaded all new files to it. But when I click on the button on the highlighted blue area, nothing happens. The button is not activated, unlike the two buttons above it. What can I do to make it work?

When I click the button, it pops open a new window to allow me to select the path...

Check  to see that it's not opening that window underneath all the other open windows (it should be on top, but sometimes things don't exactly work that way)

Click the + button at the bottom left to add a new path, then select that in the list (or in the area that shows when Show Details is checked in Ready to Download/Ready to Install).

DIM won't let you change or delete the only path defined. Create a new path, as Richard said. If that is the only path you want to use, you will be able to delete the other one once the new path has been defined.

Okay, I created a new path and selected it. The path goes to W:/ Daz 3D which is the only place it can go as far as I know. Does this look correct?

Make sure the new path is selected in the bottom box, too...

Now you should be able to select the first path and click the '-' button to get rid of it.

I just tried installing a new item and it did not show up in either the DAZ Studio or Poser areas. I must have done something wrong. Can anyone help me? Otherwise, I have no idea what I'm going to do.

Okay, I tried changing the path to W:/DAZ 3D/Studio/My Library and now it seems to be working.

It doesn't really matter what you call your library, all that matters is that you tell Studio where it is in Studio's Content Directory Manager.
