It depends on what you mean by real life people. If you mean ordinary, everyday type folks, then yes, a package like the one you mentioned will provide lots of options to play with. On the other hand, if, as Richard assumed, you are attempting to base your characters on actual, living people , that is a whole different ball game. I've tried my hand at it using only morph dials like those in the morph packages and, even with good photo references it can be tough getting a reasonable likeness. Getting it exactly right is nearly impossible that way, and those that succeed or come very close tend to at least fine tune their efforts in a modelling program or do it all there.
